No Outside Food

Recently, we have had students bringing outside food to morning walking or to breakfast at school. Because Washington Elementary is part of the Federally funded school lunch program as well as the Community Eligibility Program, bringing outside food jeopardizes our ability to provide all students will free breakfast, lunch and snack. Because the food program is federally funded, there are many rules the school must abide by. One of those rules is, no outside food allowed into the school, aside from a packed lunch from home. Please help us to continue to receive this benefit for all students by either having students eat their outside breakfast at home or in the car or simply having students eating the free breakfast provided by the school. No outside food is allowed, this includes coffee, hot cocoa, donuts, granola bars, poptarts, energy drinks, juice drinks, egg sandwiches, burritos, etc. If student bring outside food to eat in the morning, they will be asked to throw it away.
