A Trip Down Goshen Lane
Issue 29: March 6, 2026
Principal's Message
Hello, Families,
👉 There is no school for students Monday, March 9th. Enjoy your 3 day weekend! 👈
We loved talking with so many families the last two conference nights. Thank you for meeting with us. And a special thank you for the dinner donations. We felt the love and enjoyed the leftovers today, too!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Sharon Suriano
Principal
Spread the Word
March 8th was national SPREAD THE WORD DAY and in that spirit we are so excited to Spread the Word to celebrate ALL ABILITIES! At Goshen Lane, we focus on the positive note this shirt brings and the shirt this year is AMAZING! Everyone learns in their own unique way so let's CELEBRATE MINDS OF ALL KINDS!
Shirt sales will open on MONDAY, MARCH 9TH and close on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18TH at this LINK: Gahanna Paw Print Website
A portion of the proceeds will come back to our special needs population at Goshen Lane!
Shirts will then be delivered to Goshen Lane the week of April 27th! As always, our staff and students are so grateful for the inclusivity of Goshen Lane and your support!

Classes are finishing our third quarter with large group activities to reinforce team building skills such as: cooperation, communication, and good sportsmanship. In Phys Ed classes we talk about measuring our success by our effort compared to the scoreboard of a game/activity. I always tell our students that if you try your best, you’ll always be a winner.
Field Day this year is May 20th - save the date if you are interested in being a parent volunteer! Duties consist of running a variety of activities, helping with the Kona Ice Truck, and helping classes get organized at the inflatable. It is always a fun day for students, but wouldn’t be successful without our amazing parent volunteers! Note: you must be a volunteer to attend this event.
Please help your child(ren) wear appropriate shoes on PE days. Tennis shoes are best. This helps students stay safe with appropriate footwear.
Looking for ways to get your child(ren) moving more at home? Click HERE and check out these activities! Our personal favorites in our house are the Ollyball, Skip It, Hand-trampoline, and Pindaloo.
Questions to ask your student:
How do you show good sportsmanship in PE class?
What has been your favorite activity you’ve done in PE class lately?

Home Access to School Resources
Did you know your child can access their online educational apps at home like they do in school? These resources include Lexia and DreamBox, educational accounts to build reading and math skills. Click here to read how.
Lions Locker - Another Resource for our GJPS Families
Lions Locker is an anonymous pantry located at Gahanna Lincoln High School. They provide food, toiletries, school supplies and other basic necessities to PreK-12 students of Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools.
If your family is in need of these basic items please reach out to Mrs. Cellar, School Counselor (cellarl@gjps.org) and she will work with Lions Locker as well as other local organizations to support your family through these need based programs.
Afterschool Care at Goshen Lane
If your student is in need of after school care, the YWCA Columbus offers services right here at Goshen Lane. There is an option to receive publicly funded childcare for those who apply and qualify. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact them directly.
