PBJ: 10/19-25

Welcome to the busiest marching band week of the season! With our normal rehearsal schedule, an away game on Friday, and contests on both Wednesday and Saturday, we have a very full week ahead of us. Please review the details below carefully to make sure you are prepared for everything.
Note: Monday night's rehearsal is at Jackie Hendricks Stadium (5:00-8:00pm). The Lovelady HS Band Hall will remain open until 4:45pm. Students must retrieve anything they need for rehearsal by that time.
UIL Region Marching Contest - Wednesday
On Wednesday morning, we will travel to Melissa for the UIL Region 25 Marching Contest. This event takes place during the school day. Call time is 7:15am at Lovelady HS. Instead of being ranked against other schools, our performance will be given a rating (Division I, II, III, IV, or V) based on judging criteria. If we earn a Division I rating, we will advance to compete at the UIL Area Marching Contest in McKinney on October 31st.
The contest is held at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium in Melissa and is open to the public. A link to purchase tickets is included in the itinerary.
Away Football Game on Friday
Our football game on Friday is an away game against Prosper Walnut Grove. While our away game procedures are likely familiar at this point of the season, a busy week with multiple performances can make it easy to overlook some details. Please review the itinerary below carefully to make sure you know everything you need to.
Bands of America Waco Regional - Oct. 24th
On Saturday, we will be traveling to compete at the Bands of America Waco Regional Championship at Baylor University's McLane Stadium. Bands of America Championships provide opportunities to perform in the finest venues, receive quality evaluation, and to observe other bands, all in a positive, affirming, and celebratory atmosphere. This competition features a total of 32 competing bands from across the state of Texas. Please see the itinerary below for more details, including how to buy tickets or livestream the event.
2027 Spring Trip - Houston/Galveston
This Friday is the deadline to register for our Spring Trip to Houston/Galveston on April 9-11. Planned highlights include Space Center Houston, Moody Gardens, Galveston's Historic Pleasure Pier, and a Houston Symphony concert. 6 HOURS + EVERY BAND FAMILY = A STRONGER SEASON!
We are asking each band family to contribute a minimum of 6 volunteer hours this season.
With so many students to support, those six hours can make a HUGE difference! Choose the dates and opportunities that work best for your family. You can complete your hours at once or spread them throughout the season. Your time helps make these experiences possible for our students and allows our directors and staff to focus on what matters most — our students and their success. Every helping hand counts!
