Parent Teacher Conferences (October 8 and 14)

On October 8 and October 14, Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place at Santa Fe from 4:30-8:00 pm. No Appointments are necessary. It is set up as a come and go opportunity to meet teachers and speak to them for 5-10 minutes about your student. The conferences will take place in the Main Cafeteria, the Freshman Cafeteria, and the Media Center. More specific information about where to meet your student's teachers will be sent in a separate email later this week.

Dress Code Expectations

During Howdy Week and Homecoming Week we have School Spirit Dress Up Days which allow students some creativity in their dress code while remaining school appropriate. Now that those events have concluded, we need to remind students that the District Dress Code should be followed. This includes:

  • Visibly display your student ID on a lanyard, a clip, or attached to your backpack.
  • No hats being worn inside the building. Also, no hats being carried in students' hands inside campus buildings. Hats may be kept in a backpack or car, but they should not be worn inside campus buildings or carried around in the hallways.
  • Bandanas, Head coverings, and Wave Caps should not be worn inside the building. Please remove these items prior to entering campus buildings.
  • All shirts should have shoulder straps and come down to waist level.
  • No blankets are allowed to be used in classrooms or carried around campus buildings. As the weather gets cooler, please transition to warmer layers of clothing and jackets but not the use of blankets.
  • No clothing that makes references to weapons, violence, sex (example: wearing Playboy Brand Clothing), alcohol, or drugs.

(Thank you for your assistance in following the school dress code. There will be other school spirit opportunities to dress creatively on Halloween, during Finals Week (Christmas Theme), and during Double Wolf Dare Week.)

AP and NHS Tutoring (Wednesdays starting October 2 in Freshman Cafeteria)

AP and NHS students have created a free tutoring opportunity for students on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00pm starting on October 2. This is designed to allow students to seek support on difficult subjects and/or to have a quiet place to study each Wednesday after school. There will be snacks available for those who attend. An Administrator will be present while the tutoring is taking place.

Advisory Time at Santa Fe

Each school day from 10:10-10:30 starting now up until spring break (except on days when there are special events/assemblies), we will have designated Advisory Time for our students.

Starting the week of September 23-27...

Mondays and Fridays will be Priority Days for all Math Classes

Mondays and Fridays will be designated for Large Group/Activity Meetings (needing large spaces)

Tuesdays thru Thursdays will be designated for Academic Help in all Classes

Tuesdays thru Thursdays will be designated for Small Group/Officer Meetings (meeting in teacher classrooms and not needing a large space)

Tuesday will be a Priority Day for all English Classes

Wednesday will be a Priority Day for all Science Classes

Thursday will be a Priority Day for all Social Studies Classes

Students struggling in academic classes will need to miss their Group/Activity Meetings if they are on an Advisory List for academic reasons at that same time

Student Expectations

  • Students are expected to have their IDs visible (lanyard, clip, or attached to a backpack) and also to have their chromebooks charged and ready to use during class time.
  • It is important to use the five minute passing period to "travel" to the next class rather than be stationary and "visit" with friends. Tardies impact student attendance and also impact starting class on time.
  • Being prepared for each class requires the following...
    • Be on Time
    • Follow Dress Code
    • Visibly display Student ID (on a lanyard, clip, or attached to a backpack)
    • Have a charged Chromebook to use during class
    • Readiness to turn in the assignment, participation in classroom activities, and preparation for assessments and tests
  • For Home Events and Away Events after the school day, students need to bring their Student IDs so that we can verify that you are a Santa Fe student who is allowed to attend the event.
  • During lunch, students are not allowed in the auditorium lobby, fine arts hallway, or the Athletics Hallways near the two gyms.
  • Junior and Senior students leaving campus for lunch should leave campus during the first five minutes of lunch and not hang out in the parking lot or other areas of campus. Upon returning from lunch, please re-enter the building and wait in the back hall area for the bell to ring for the next class.
