Eagle Press
Eisenhower Elementary

August 24, 2026
Welcome Back!
Dear Eisenhower Families,
I hope this letter finds you relaxed and rested for the new school year! On behalf of our entire staff I’d like to welcome our new and returning students to Eisenhower Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. Our staff has worked diligently over the summer to plan lessons, prepare classrooms, and ensure we are ready for the start of the new school year. The building looks wonderful we are eager for all of our students to SOAR this year! We hope the information below may address any questions you may have at this time.
Staff has given careful consideration to each child’s placement for the 26-27 school year. By doing so we have created classrooms that are balanced both academically and socially to help ensure each child’s success. Student placement letters will be emailed to families the afternoon of August 26th. If you have changed your email address or moved over the summer, please contact our office ASAP so we can ensure we have the correct contact information on file.
The first day of school will be on Monday, August 31st. This day is a half day and we begin at 8:30. and dismiss at 12:30. We will not serve lunch or snacks on this day. I’ve attached door assignments below so your child will know where to line up daily. Please know staff will also be out front and visible to direct students as necessary this week. YMCA School-Aged Child Care (SACC) WILL be available on this day.
To keep families abreast of Ike happenings, Eagle Press will continue to be published weekly and emailed home on Sundays. A list of important August/September dates may be found below in the meantime.
In closing, please know the staff and I are here and look forward to partnering with you this year to ensure your child’s success! It is an honor and privilege to serve as your principal and I look forward to meeting each of you this year. Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at any time!
Sincerely,
Jessica Kapanka

Does your child have medical needs?
If your child has specific medical needs, please reach out to the main office prior to the start of school. In order to administer medication, consent forms must be completed. Consent forms for prescription medications must include dosage and frequency information signed by a physician. Medication, including inhalers, must be stored in the main office and not in backpacks or pockets. In addition, if your child has a medical plan, it will need to be updated for the 26-27 school year.
Please find medication forms linked below for your convenience.
FPS Wireless Communication Device Policy
As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we want to share the student cell phone and personal device expectations in Fraser Public Schools.
In accordance with state law and Fraser Public Schools policy, students may not use personal wireless communication devices during the school day while on school grounds. This is consistent with our past practices at the elementary buildings.
What does this mean for elementary students?
Students may bring a device to school, but it must remain turned off, stored away, and out of sight during the school day. This includes cell phones, smartwatches and smart glasses, earbuds and headphones, personal tablets and any device that can text, call, access the internet, take photos or videos, send email, or provide entertainment.
Are there exceptions?
Yes. Exceptions may be made for medically necessary devices, school-issued devices, approved instructional use and IEP or 504 accommodations.
What happens if a student has a device out?
If a student has a device out during instructional time, they will be asked to put it away. If needed, staff may secure the device in a designated, secure location until the end of the school day.
Discipline will not be issued simply because a student has a device out. Consequences may be assigned if a student refuses to follow the expectation or repeatedly fails to comply with the policy. Our goal is to respond in a safe, reasonable, and consistent manner while helping students develop responsible technology habits.
How can families help?
We ask for your partnership as we make this transition. Before the school year begins, please talk with your student about keeping personal devices put away during the school day and the importance of following staff directions.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to provide a focused, safe, and positive learning environment for every Fraser student.
