What's Happening?
Fowler students have truly knocked it out of the park with MCAS testing this spring! We are officially finished with ELA, Math, and Science MCAS testing, with only the Grade 8 Civics assessment remaining next week. We are incredibly proud of our students for the perseverance, focus, and grit they demonstrated throughout the testing season, as well as our staff for their support and flexibility.
As Memorial Day approaches, we also want to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday. Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. While many of us will enjoy the warm weather, cookouts, and time with family and friends, we do so because of the courage and dedication of those who fought to protect our freedoms. We extend our deepest gratitude to all who have served and especially remember those who gave their lives in service to our nation.
Fowler was extremely fortunate and grateful to have a presenter from Sandy Hook Promise speak with our 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-graders on Friday. The presentation, titled “Say Something,” served as a follow-up to the “Start With Hello” program our students previously participated in.
Our students were respectful, engaged, and attentive throughout the event. The focus of the presentation was on recognizing warning signs when a peer may be considering harming themselves or others—and understanding what steps to take when those signs appear. It was an important and empowering message for our students to hear.
We are truly appreciative of the opportunity to partner with this impactful organization. Unfortunately, grant funding for Sandy Hook Promise has recently been eliminated. If you value this type of education and prevention work, please consider visiting their website to share your support.
Best
Keith

SQM Survey for Caregivers- Closes on May 29th
Dear Maynard Families,
We Value Your Voice – Please Participate in the SQM Parent Survey
For the past several years, Maynard Public Schools has partnered with the Education Commonwealth Project (ECP) at the University of Massachusetts, now referred to as MCIEA, to better understand and strengthen our schools through the School Quality Measures (SQM) surveys. These surveys provide valuable insight into key areas such as academic learning, school culture, community and well-being, resources, and leadership.
We are inviting you to participate in this year’s parent survey. Your feedback is essential in helping us understand what we are doing well and where we can improve. The perspectives of our families play a critical role in shaping our priorities and ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of all students.
The survey is designed to be straightforward and meaningful, and your responses are confidential. The data collected will be used to inform decision-making at both the school and district levels.

We are committed to transparency and continuous improvement, and we deeply value your partnership in this work.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your feedback.

Maynard Booster Club
Spring sports season has begun and The Booster Club is excited to open the snack shack for our upcoming home events for both High School and Middle Schoolers. For new parents, the Snack Shack at Alumni Field is run totally by parent volunteers and we welcome having new families join us. A shift in the snack shack is an easy and fun way to get involved. Track meets can be long and a shift in the shack is a great way to pass the time and stay warm! And since we are just steps away from the track you are always welcome to step out to watch your athlete in their event!
The sign up link is below. We hope to see you at the snack shack...and for the person who volunteers the most shifts the Booster Club would love you to pick an item from our school store site on us!
