We're excited to celebrate the graduation of the Forest Class as we see them off to their next adventure!
Please note, Classes 5-8 are REQUIRED to be at graduation, as those classes participate in the ceremony.
Graduation Details:
- ARRIVAL is at 3:45 on our campus to ensure we begin promptly at 4:00.
- Kindergarten & Classes 1, 2 & 4 are invited to attend and stay with their parents.
- Class 3: Students are welcomed and encouraged to attend the graduation of their buddy class! Students will sit with their parents.
- Classes 5-7: Students are required to attend. Students will be part of the end of the ceremony. Students will sit with their teachers. We very much hope that at least one parent per student will attend the event.
Graduation Dress Code: Children should dress in “Sunday best”! Please note, that the weather promises to be sunny and warm. Plan to bring hats, sunscreen, and perhaps a water bottle.
Attendance at 8th Grade Reception: The graduation ceremony itself is expected to end around 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will follow for 8th grade families and guests only.
Parking: Parking will be on Clay Street and in the Takelma neighborhood, not around Glendale. Please be mindful of the neighbors' driveways and park respectfully. Also, take care when parking to park fully within the median, not in the road.
If you have any questions at all, please call the office. Thank you!

Moving Day - Volunteers Needed
As the year draws to a close, MOVING DAY is upon us! This is the time just after school (12:30) on Friday, June 6th, when we gather as a community to help clean out the classrooms and move our students into their new space for next year! It takes MANY hands, but can be a satisfying way to close out the year. Please join us! Pizza will be provided for all helpers!
Field Day - Friday, June 6
Thanks to Ms. Glatte and her hours of organization and work, we will be hosting all the children for a late morning of games and outdoor fun at Clay Street Park on Friday, June 6, during school hours.
We do need your help! If you would like to help out with this special day please click the link below and sign up for a spot. It’s outdoors (bring hats and sunscreen) and wet (clothes that work for water) and an amazing amount of fun.
Please note, Kindergarten will not participate in the whole school event, but will have their own outdoor fun.

Star Class - 1st Grade
The Star Class is enjoying every day at school. Last week we finally baked the Miss Suzy cake! In our last math block we learned about place value, and so we cracked 1,000 hazelnuts and then we ground the nuts into flour. Miss Suzy (a kind and helpful squirrel who lives in her little house in an old oak tree), was so kind and sent us a letter from Bluebell Forest which included a recipe. This recipe helped us bake our hazelnut cake, which was so delicious. We even sent a piece back to Miss Suzy.
We have begun to read, and we are writing full sentences in our main lesson books. We love to paint, play at recess, model with beeswax and sing together. The class was very happy to receive their name “Star Class” and we sure are many brightly shining stars in the 1st grade ready to move on in our galaxy to 2nd grade so soon!
From our classroom to your hearts, Mrs. McNamara
Our community classifieds are posted as a service to our Siskiyou School families and our broader community. We may edit it for space purposes. Classifieds are included for two weeks, require a break for a week, and then can be renewed upon request.
