St Anthony's School News

Week 9 - Thursday 18th June 2026
St Anthony's School community works collaboratively to teach and live the values of Christ. While respecting tradition, and to meet the demands of a rapidly changing society, it strives to educate our children to their full potential.
Principal's Address
St Anthony, model of great holiness, help me to live as a worthy child of God. Grant that I may have the courage to witness to my faith.
Bless me with a heart that is capable of loving God above all things, and open my soul to a generous and sincere love of my neighbour.
Help me to be willing to assist and serve anyone who is in need. Encourage me by your holy example, so that I may be most open and receptive to God’s perfect love. Amen
St Anthony of Padua Celebration
Last Sunday’s parish celebration of the Feast of St Anthony was a wonderful expression of the devotion we have to this saint. It was fantastic to see so many school children and their families and staff from St Anthony’s, St Elizabeth’s and Mater Dei attend the parade and visit the stalls inside the school grounds.
Upcoming Events
Family Night
Thank you to all the parents and extended family members who came along last night for a few minutes to view all the wonderful work the children have been doing and giving them the opportunity to tell you about what they have been learning this semester.
Thank you also to the amazing staff we are blessed to have here at St Anthony’s. The works the children are doing daily in class with their teachers and education assistants was on display for you all to view and comment on. Thanks also to the staff for staying behind at the end of a long day to speak with parents and answer questions about the work their child has done.
Thanks also to the P&F members who organised and staffed the sausage sizzle to keep you fed on a chilly night. In particular, I would like to acknowledge Paige Hughes and Sarina Berlingeri as, between them, they have organised both last night’s sausage sizzle and the sausage sizzle for the NIPPSA cross country event tomorrow. Thank you, ladies for volunteering to take on such a mammoth task.
God Bless
Therese Bandy

SEQTA Engage for School Reports
St Anthony's School utilises the SEQTA Engage Parent Portal for parents to access student reports for students in Pre-Primary to Year 6 at the end of each semester. If you have not already done so, please log in to SEQTA Engage to ensure you can access your child's report.
To do this, you need to go to the following site: https://stanthonys.engage.cewa.edu.au/ and use your current username and password. This link is also found at the bottom of the school webpage under 'Quick Links'.
If you have remembered your username but have forgotten your password, please click the 'Forgot your Password?' link, and an immediate email will be sent to you. The password reset link in the email will expire within one hour, so please action this immediately.
If you have forgotten both of these, then please contact the school, and we can remind you of your username.
Reports will be available from Friday, the 3rd of July, at 3:00 pm.
School Reports Update
As we approach the upcoming Semester 1 reporting period, we would like to advise families of an important change to student reports.
Previously, reports at St Anthony’s included both individual strand grades and an overall grade for each learning area. For example, within English, parents would see separate grades for Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening, in addition to an overall English grade.
Following updated reporting direction from Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA), reports will now display overall subject grades only. Individual strand grades will no longer appear on student reports.
While this represents a change in the format of reporting, it does not change the depth of assessment or the careful consideration teachers give to understanding and monitoring each child’s progress. Teachers continue to assess students across the various strands and components within each learning area throughout the semester. This assessment information remains central to planning, teaching and reporting.
The change to providing an overall grade only reflects the understanding that achievement in a learning area is broader than a simple collection of separate strand results. The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) advises that overall grades are determined through professional teacher judgement against the achievement standards, using the range of evidence collected over time.
This means teachers consider the full picture of a student’s achievement when determining an overall grade. For example, a student may demonstrate differing levels of achievement across various aspects of a subject, and teachers use their professional expertise and knowledge of the achievement standards to make an informed overall judgement of the student's achievement.
We understand that families value clear and meaningful information about their child’s learning. Although reports will no longer include individual strand grades, teachers remain committed to providing feedback that identifies strengths, areas for growth and next steps for learning. Parent–teacher meetings and ongoing communication will continue to play an important role in supporting your child's progress.
We appreciate your support and understanding as we implement these reporting changes. If you have any questions regarding student reports, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
