School Requisites & Stationery List 2026/27 School Requisites & Stationery List 2026/27

As you are aware, the Department of Education has once again provided funding to all primary schools to cover the cost of schoolbooks for pupils. The schoolbooks for next year have been purchased, labelled, and distributed to the class teachers.

A list of stationery items that parents/guardians are required to purchase for their child was sent on Monday. The school requisites list for the coming school year has also been emailed to all families. Payment for these items must be made before the start of the new school year and can be completed through the Aladdin App.

Payments for Gymnastics (all classes) and Swimming (2nd Class only) have also been added to Aladdin. However, these activities may be paid for at any time up to December.

Yesterday afternoon, we gathered to celebrate the graduation of our wonderful Sixth Class pupils. It was a lovely occasion, full of happy memories, laughter, and reflection as we marked the end of their time at Dangan National School.

A huge thank you to all the children, to Ms Duffy, Ms Fitzgerald, Sharon and Maria for all their hard work in preparing such a special celebration. The pride, positivity, and sense of achievement in the room were evident and reflected the strong bonds that have been formed within the class over the years.

A special word of thanks also goes to Sophia's mum for creating a beautiful slideshow that was shown during the ceremony. It was wonderful to look back on so many special moments, from the children's first days in Infants right through to their final year in Dangan.

We would also like to thank our Parents' Association for providing refreshments, drinks and goody bags for the children. Their generosity helped make the afternoon even more enjoyable. A special mention must go to Gemma for the wonderful personal touches she added to each goody bag. She truly went above and beyond, as she so often does, and we are incredibly lucky to have her support and creativity within our school community.

On behalf of everyone in our school community, I would like to congratulate and wish every success to:

Jack, Maya, Grace, Lochlann, Bobby, Liliana, Dominykus, Etain, Lilly, Lukas, Oisin, Jayden, Annie, Ellie H, George, Aoife H, Oran, Steffen, Ellie C, Amar, Aoife N, Holly, Sophia, Lauren, Faye, Robbie, Hope, Ellen H, Ciara and Matilde.

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. They have brought so much to our school through their enthusiasm, kindness, talents and friendships. As they move on to secondary school, we wish them every happiness and success in the exciting years ahead.

It was especially nice to see so many parents and siblings join us for the celebration. Thank you for the support and encouragement you have given the children throughout their primary school years.

To the families who are moving on from Dangan, thank you for the support, kindness and involvement you have shown our school over the years. We have loved being part of your children's journey and wish you all the very best for the future.

Primary School Survey - Results from Parents Primary School Survey - Results from Parents

Earlier this school year, parents and guardians were invited by the Department of Education to participate in a nationwide Primary School Parent Survey. The survey sought the views of families on a number of aspects of primary education, including school type, patronage and language of instruction.

Thank you to all of our parents and guardians who took the time to participate. The Department has now shared the results, and we are pleased to provide a summary of the responses received from families within our school community.

Thank you also to Ms Fitzgerald, Ms Mollison, Ms Smyth and Mr Kelly for overseeing athletics, basketball and rounders and providing pupils with many opportunities to participate, compete and enjoy sport.

Summerhill GAA Time Capsule Project Summerhill GAA Time Capsule Project

Over the past few weeks, pupils across the school have been taking part in a very special community project organised by Summerhill GAA as part of the club's 120th anniversary celebrations.

The children were invited to create letters, drawings and messages about themselves, their lives, and their hopes for the future. These contributions will form part of a time capsule that will be buried on the club grounds during ongoing development works. A plaque will mark the location, preserving this snapshot of local life for future generations to discover.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to take part in this unique project and put great thought and creativity into their work. We would like to thank Summerhill GAA for including our school in this wonderful initiative and for giving our children the chance to leave their mark on a piece of local history.

Below are our Senior Infant pupils proudly displaying their time capsule contributions before they become part of Summerhill GAA's special 120th anniversary project.

Thank You for Supporting Our School Lotto Thank You for Supporting Our School Lotto

A sincere thank you to everyone who has supported our School Lotto fundraiser over the past year. Your generosity and continued support have made a real difference to our school community.

Thanks to the funds raised through the Lotto, we have been able to make significant progress towards the cost of our Sensory Pods, which we hope will be fully paid for by September. This is a fantastic achievement and would not have been possible without your ongoing support.

The completion of this project will also allow us to direct future Lotto funds towards other areas of the school, ensuring that pupils continue to benefit from new resources, initiatives and improvements in the years ahead.

We are extremely grateful for your support and for the commitment you continue to show to our school.

All our lucky weekly winners over the summer will receive their prize when our school re-opens. If you are really lucky and win our Jackpot, then we will be in touch. We thank you all for your support, as it is making a real difference. Enjoy the summer holidays!
