March is going to be a FUN and festive month full of themed days, celebrations, and lots of learning! Please see all of our special events and dress-up days below so your child can join in the excitement.
Read Across America
We are so excited to celebrate Read Across America Week! Throughout the week, classrooms will focus on building a love of reading through special story times, themed literacy activities, fun book discussions, and creative extensions tied to our favorite stories.
Our goal is to encourage children to explore new books, strengthen early literacy skills, and develop a lifelong love of reading. We may have guest readers, special classroom reading challenges, and cozy reading moments throughout the week.
We encourage families to:
-
Read together at home each night
-
Let your child pick a favorite book to share
-
Talk about characters, settings, and favorite parts of stories
Reading just 15 minutes a day makes a BIG difference! πβ¨

π Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Evelynπ
We would like to give a very special shout-out to Ms. Evelyn, our incredible Preschool Teacher! Ms. Evelyn does an outstanding job preparing her students for Pre-K, making sure they build the academic skills, confidence, and independence they need for their next big step.
What truly sets Ms. Evelyn apart is the patience and pride she brings to her classroom each and every day. She celebrates every milestone, big or small, and makes each child feel capable, valued, and proud of their achievements. Her calm guidance and encouraging heart create a learning environment where children thrive.
We are so grateful for the dedication, care, and passion Ms. Evelyn pours into her students every day. Thank you for making such a lasting impact on our preschoolers! π

Character Essentials
We Are Patient
Infants
The concept of developing patience with infants is different than with older children. Teachers should never delay meeting a childβs needs or withhold something such as food from an infant to develop patience. Instead, the goal this month will be to work with the children on maintaining focus on tasks and persisting with tasks, and teaching them to soothe themselves when frustrated. These skills can be considered foundational for learning about patience in the future when it is more developmentally appropriate.
Toddlers
The focus this month is to help toddlers practice skills like maintaining focus on tasks, persisting with activities, and managing impulses. At this stage, children will persist with repetitive tasks and attempt to accomplish more challenging tasks even when they encounter difficulties. Young toddlers may still need guidance from adults to develop calming or self-soothing strategies. Older toddlers have more developed coping skills and demonstrate the beginning of impulse control.
Twos
At this stage, early preschoolers are just developing the skills needed to control their emotions and actions when it comes to building patience. They are beginning to understand and accept the reasons for when and why things may not be available to them at that moment. Two-year olds desire instant gratification, and waiting a minute can feel like a lifetime. During this stage of development, 2-year-olds are learning the ability to regulate their behavior by understanding the difference between acceptable and unacceptable behavior. As language skills and long-term memory continue to develop, they will begin to understand the importance of expectations, limits, and patience.
Preschool
The goal this month is to provide an environment where children can develop the skill of flexibility, along with resilience. Children need a place where they can develop flexible thinking, learn new ways of doing things, and develop the ability to let go of an old way of doing something. Children will learn to develop resilience when they are faced with changes and adjustments in a familiar environment. The children will also be exposed to a variety of methods and modeling that will provide positive and meaningful ways to develop patience and self-control. As preschoolers are developing the value of patience, they will also learn the importance of carefulness as they navigate their environment and relationships with others and themselves.
- Patience: the ability to demonstrate self-control while waiting for an event to occur; the ability to remain calm when dealing with a difficult or annoying situation
- Flexibility: the ability to adapt to new situations, improvise, and shift strategies to meet different types of challenges
- Resiliency: the ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune
- Carefulness: a trait of being observant and paying attention
The goal this month is to assist the children in learning how to deal with adversity, frustrations, and changes in routines. This unit will focus on learning about patience and how to be flexible and resilient. The children will also understand how practicing carefulness may help prevent frustrations and mistakes.
