Coding with Finch Bots
Mrs. April Woody's Science class is having a blast coding the Finch robots! They had to pretend the Finch was their "Travel Bot" and write a story about traveling through the four layers of Earth.
Mrs. Andrea Allen stated, “Mrs. Woody strives to provide students with opportunities to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning that promotes critical thinking and innovation. Integrating coding and robotics into science instruction allows students to explore complex concepts, such as the layers of the Earth, while developing computational thinking and problem-solving skills. Experiences like this demonstrate how technology can be used to deepen understanding while fostering student engagement and creativity. Thank you Mrs. Woody and Ms. Carroll for providing such learning opportunities for your students."
CTE Director Cynthia Deyton
During CTE month, we recognized all of the CTE teachers and highlighted the courses available but failed to recognize the woman that keeps it all running. Director Cynthia Deyton works tirelessly to ensure our students have a wide range of opportunities in the CTE field. She secures funding, analyzes curriculum and advocates on behalf of her staff and students which enables YCS to have one of the most dynamic CTE programs in the state! Thank you, Cynthia, for your hard work and dedication to YCS!
Vendors Needed! Booth fees will benefit Angie Beaver's liver transplant journey. She has driven a bus for YCS for over 30 years.
