Don't forget

Don’t forget these important tasks to wrap up the 2021-2022 testing year!

Make sure to download all data files from your TIDE inbox prior to August 14th.

As a reminder, the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE), the Test Delivery System (TDS), and the Centralized Reporting System (CRS) will be offline between August 15 and August 21, 2022, to complete a system rollover for the 2022–2023 school year. Please be sure to download any data files prior to August 14, 2022. All systems will be back online on Monday, August 22, 2022.

The second part of the DTC and Superintendent oath will need to be submitted prior to July 31, 2022.

  • Superintendent and district coordinator test security oaths must be submitted to the state testing contractor prior to July 31, 2022, when all testing activity has been completed for the school year. Districts should print a screen shot of the superintendent and district coordinator security oaths prior to submitting. If you have questions about the submission of these security oaths, contact Texas Testing Support at 833-601-8821 or TexasTestingSupport@cambiumassessment.com.
  • The Test Security Oath for Superintendent or Chief Administrative Officer and the Test Security Oath for District Testing Coordinator are available in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) under Administration and Security Forms. The General Test Security Oath for campus testing coordinators, test administrators, technology staff, proctors, raters, etc. is available at the link below.

Retention of Documentation

Districts are required to retain signed security oaths, seating charts, testing irregularity and investigation documentation, and inventory and shipping records for five years following a test administration.

  • Verify that campuses have collected signed Oaths of Test Security and Confidentiality for all personnel who participated in testing.
  • Confirm campuses have collected seating charts for each test session and coordinators have verified the charts contain the required information.
  • Confirmed campuses have properly completed and collected all inventory and shipping records (including Materials Control Forms, district and campus shipping notices, and district-generated documents used to track the delivery of materials to and between campuses).
  • Ensure that the designated test administration documentation storage location is secure and that the documentation cannot be subsequently altered. Districts may decide how this documentation is to be stored—scanned and kept in an electronic format or retained as hard copy—as long as the information is secure, legible, and can be retrieved. Districts should periodically audit campuses to ensure that this documentation has been accurately completed and securely stored.

❓ What is TPRS? Is it the same as TAPR?

The Texas Performance Reporting System (TPRS) integrates state and federal reporting requirements into a single reporting system that can be viewed at the campus, district, region, and state level. As the most comprehensive reporting system published by TEA, TPRS provides additional performance reports, results, and indicators for student groups not previously reported on state accountability data tables, the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), or the School Report Card. TPRS is the enhanced online version of TAPR. It has been recently updated with Remote vs. In-Person Data. TEAL Accountability application will show you unmasked data.

The TPRS Glossary provides definitions, describes methodologies, and lists sources for each tab in the TPRS system.

What’s New in Performance Reporting

A–F Accountability

A–F Knowledge Base and FAQ Widget

Performance Reporting created a Knowledge Base that houses over one hundred accountability related questions and answers. Users can either browse by topic by selecting the “Accountability Topics” option in the top right corner or enter a keyword to find related FAQs. Users can also view FAQs by scrolling the main page and navigating through the top rated, most viewed, and newly published sections.

An FAQ widget has also been added to the bottom right corner of our 2022 Accountability Rating System and Performance Reporting Resources webpages! The widget allows users to easily search accountability FAQs pulled directly from the Knowledge Base. When searching for an FAQ using the widget, users should use full words. For instance, if a user is searching for “growth”, the entire word “growth” needs to be entered. Entering a partial word will not result in any results.

Please contact us at performance.reporting@tea.texas.gov or 512-463-9704 with any additional questions.

Local Accountability System

The Local Accountability System Notice of Interest for districts wishing to participate in the local accountability system is available online. Districts submitting a form will be contacted for follow-up discussions.

Participating districts may wish to develop a plan during the summer of 2022 that is then applied to the 2022–23 school year. We also support districts that are using the 2022–23 school year to develop a plan for application to the 2023–24 school year.

An updated Local Accountability System Guide and Sample District Plan are now available on the local accountability webpage. Both provide information about plan requirements and example components.

Districts wishing to learn more about the local accountability system and how to develop a district local accountability plan can participate in a 45-minute overview webinar with time for Q & A.

Assessment Scoring and Reporting

June 2022 STAAR Administration

Preliminary student results for the June 2022 STAAR online tests for English I and English II will be available in the Centralized Reporting System (CRS) on July 27, 2022.

System Updates

Desktop Secure Browsers

Secure browser version 15 for Windows, macOS, and Linux is now available for download from the Secure Browser section on TexasAssessment.gov. The updated mobile secure browser version 7 for iPad OS and Chrome OS will be available by August 1. Review the secure browser installation and configuration instructions and install the latest secure browser versions prior to August 31, 2022.

An updated version of the Secure Browser System Requirements is available in the Secure Browser section of TexasAssessment.gov. This includes information on the operating systems needed to support online testing in the 2022–23 school year.

Cambium System Data Clean-up and System Upgrades

As a reminder, the Test Delivery System (TDS), Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE), and the Centralized Reporting System (CRS) will be offline between August 15 and August 21, 2022, to complete end-of-year data clean-up and system upgrades for the 2022–23 school year. All systems will be back online on Monday, August 22. Please be sure to download any data files prior to August 14, 2022.

TDS

The Test Administrator Interface of TDS will be unavailable during the clean-up window, so no test sessions may be created or administered. Practice, released, and new item type tests will be available for students to use in Guest mode.

TIDE

All user accounts will be carried over to the 2022–23 school year. However, starting August 22, all users will need to set a new password when logging into TIDE for the first time. As part of the data clean-up process, 2021–22 student records, rosters, and student test eligibilities will no longer be available on August 22 when the system is back online. Users wishing to save a copy of their student or roster data from the 2021–22 school year must do so prior to August 14, 2022.

Starting on August 22, districts should upload new student files reflecting 2022–23 enrollment data. Test attributes and the fields that drive test eligibility will need to be set for the 2022–23 school year.

Note: File exports to the Secure Inbox have a limit of 100,000 records. Districts with a large number of records should select a few enrolled grades at a time to export.

CRS

It is not necessary to download 2021–22 results or data files unless access to this information is needed while CRS is offline. Districts can access 2021–22 test history in CRS for their students enrolled in TIDE in the 2022–23 school year.

Authoring

The Authoring system will remain available for users to create new items and tests. All items and tests created in the 2021–22 school year will remain available. No tests may be administered to students until the students have been reloaded in TIDE after August 22.

Minimum System Requirements for 2022–23

An updated version of the Minimum System Requirements is available in the Resources section of TexasAssessment.gov. This preliminary version includes information on the operating systems needed to support online testing in the 2022–23 school year. A forthcoming update will include additional information for Windows and requirements for testing devices.

For questions or assistance regarding the information in this communication, contact Texas Testing Support at 833-601-8821, TexasTestingSupport@cambiumassessment.com, or via live chat at TexasAssessment.gov.

TFAR is a free, optional platform used by educators to create, administer, analyze, and share formative assessments. Teachers will be able to analyze the results of these formative assessments to help inform instructional choices such as making immediate lesson plan adjustments or providing specific interventions for students at the level of individual standards.

TFAR is meant to supplement and support existing LEA resources and formative assessment practices. Assessments created in TFAR should be combined with a broader set of classroom formative practices that are part of a coherent instructional framework.

Additionally, formative assessments from select, high quality instructional materials (HQIM) with an open education license will be available to administer through the same online test administration system as assessments created using TFAR. Assessments from math and RLA curricula, grades K-5, will be prioritized, and other, select curricula’s assessments will be released on a rolling basis. More information about which HQIM products’ tests will be available in the online system and the release dates of these tests will be available in the fall.

The ELP methodology will be updated to account for the impact of COVID .

• A student is considered having made progress if the student advances by at least one score of the composite rating from the prior year to the current year, or the student’s 2022 result is Advanced High or Basic Fluency.

• If the composite rating from 2021 is not available, the 2020 composite rating is compared to the 2022 composite rating. As the completion of TELPAS was optional in 2020, if the 2020 composite rating is available but does not show progress, the 2019 composite rating is compared to the 2022 composite rating.

• If the composite rating from 2020 is not available, the 2019 composite rating is compared to the 2022 composite rating.

• If the composite rating from 2019 is not available, the 2018 composite rating is compared to the 2022 composite rating. CCMR Tracker Part 2 July 1

The purpose of this communication is to provide information regarding the release of the College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Tracker. The CCMR Tracker is released in two stages.

· March 31, 2022: CCMR outcomes reported though TSDS PEIMS, TSIA results, and OnRamps course completion through the 2020–21 school year

· July 1, 2022: CCMR outcomes for SAT, ACT, AP, IB, and level I/II certificates through the 2020–21 school year

Background

The CCMR Tracker is a tracking tool within the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application. This tool provides districts with an early preview of CCMR status for students who were in grades 9–12 during the 2021–22 school year. The CCMR Tracker contains lagging data as is detailed in the chart below. While the Tracker contains students who were in grades 9–12 on the 2021–22 PEIMS snapshot, the 2022 version does not contain results from school year 2021–22 as those data have yet to be reported.

The first release contained 2020–21 PEIMS, TSIA results, and OnRamps course completion data. The SAT, ACT, AP, IB, and level I and level II certificates data provided were through the 2019–20 school year. Today’s second Tracker release contains updated data for these indicators through the end of the 2020–21 school year.

Indicators are credited if earned within date ranges provided below for students beginning with grade 9 enrollment. TSI assessments are the only CCMR indicator that may be earned prior to grade 9. Indicators reported upon graduation (IEP and workforce readiness graduates and special education graduate with advanced diploma plan) do not appear in the Tracker.

Indicator Data Reported For the 2022 Second Release

ACT college admissions test: Tests from grade 9 through July 2021 administration

AP examination: Tests from grade 9 through June 2021 administration

IB examination: Tests from grade 9 through May 2021 administration

TSI assessment: Tests from June 2011 through October 2021 administration

SAT college admissions test: Tests from grade 9 through June 2021 administration

OnRamps dual enrollment course completion: Courses completed from grade 9 through 2020–21 school year

Level I and level II certificates: Certificates earned from grade 9 through 2020–21 school year

Dual credit course completion :Courses completed from grade 9 through 2020–21 school year

Industry-based certification: Certifications earned from grade 9 through August 31, 2021

Associate degree: Degrees earned from grade 9 through 2020–21 school year

College prep course: Courses completed from grade 9 through 2020–21 school year

Action

Corrections cannot be submitted to TEA; this report is for informational purposes only. If districts find errors, they are encouraged to work with testing vendors to make corrections prior to the student’s graduation. TSDS PEIMS data are final and cannot be corrected.

If you have questions about the Tracker, please contact the Performance Reporting Division at (512) 463-9704 or performance.reporting@tea.texas.gov.

❓ Where can I find resources related to the College, Career, and Military Readiness component?

The Performance Reporting Resources webpage has a tab dedicated to College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) resources. Visit this tab under the Frequently Asked Questions Documents section to learn more about CCMR data sources and how CCMR in accountability and the CCMR Outcomes Bonus differ.
