8th Grade Events

Greetings Wolverines! This is your last year of middle school, and an exciting adventure awaits you in High School.

This newsletter contains information specific to you, 8th Grade Students and Families, to help you make the most of 8th Grade, and to plan for the end of the year. This newsletter will be updated regularly, so be sure to refresh this link by double-clicking to see new information that has been added.

To participate in the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony and all 8th Grade End of Year Events, students must meet the criteria outlined in the 8th Grade Promotion Contract. Contracts were distributed to all 8th Graders and must be signed by students and parents and turned into the office. Students not eligible for Promotion may submit letters of appeal by May 20. A copy of the Promotion Contract is posted below:

8th Grade Parents, please see the calendar below for upcoming events and important dates. We could use more parent volunteers for the 8th Grade Dance on 5/30, and we are seeking donations for Field Day as PTSA prepares to provide a special lunch for all 8th Graders on Wednesday, June 4th.

We still have 4 tickets for Disneyland available, parents may purchase them for $120 and join us at Disneyland on Monday, May 19th.

The 8th Grade Disneyland trip is scheduled for Monday, May 19th. Cost is $130. If students have a pass, they must secure a reservation, provide proof of reservation to the office, and pay $10 for the bus transportation. We have limited tickets available for parent chaperones, who must be members of PTSA.

The End of Year Awards Ceremony, including announcement of Valedictorian and Salutatorian, as well as Honor Cord recipients will be in the Benton Quad at 5:30pm on Wednesday, May 28th.

8th Grade students will be turning in any textbooks as well as their iPad, charger brick, and cable on Friday, 5/30. Start looking under those beds and in closets to find those items!

The 8th Grade Promotion will be on the last day of school, Thursday, June 5th at 9am.

Who may attend: Each student will receive 4 tickets. We have limited seating for parents and guests. If you have younger brothers/sisters/cousins at Benton who want to watch you promote, they must have a ticket to attend. No 6th or 7th grade students will be dismissed from class to watch Promotion.
