REMOTE LEARNING DAY RESOURCES
PREPARING FOR TOMORROW'S REMOTE LEARNING DAY
Tomorrow has been deemed a non-traditional learning day (or remote learning). Students should be logging into their classes via the links posted at the top of their class Schoology pages.
To prepare for a POTENTIAL remote learning day, please ensure your student has access to the following:
- BCS-issued iPad
- iPad charger
- Class schedule (see below)
- A quiet workspace
- Login credentials (To access Microsoft Teams, students must use their full email address: login@stu.k12.wv.us)
- (Optional) Earbuds compatible with the iPad
Due to the unexpected nature of this remote learning day, we realize some students may not have access to their iPads. Students will have 48 hours to complete any work they miss during tomorrow's remote learning day. Please remind your student to communicate with their teachers upon their return to school to make sure they understand what to complete.
Thank you for your support in ensuring a successful remote learning experience for all students.
REMOTE LEARNING AND SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
Students should be prepared to log in and participate online with their teachers and complete all assignments in Schoology during any remote learning day. Attendance will be taken, and students will be marked absent if they do not attend online meetings and/or do not complete the assigned work for the day.
If a student experiences difficulty joining an online meeting, all assignments must still be completed within 48 hours.
Our Remote Learning Daily Schedule is as follows:
- Period 1: 9:00-9:15
- Period 2: 9:20-9:35
- Period 3: 9:40-9:55
- Period 4: 10:00-10:15
- Period 5: 10:20-10:35
- Period 6: 10:40-10:55
- Period 7: 11:00-11:15
**Students will login each period to learn about their assignments and ask questions. They will complete assignments for the rest of the school day.
HOME USE OF THE iPAD REMINDERS
Berkeley County Schools has issued this guidance document to help students & families care for their school-issued iPads. Please take a moment to go over this with your child as we prepare for remote learning.
