Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents/Carers,
The first whole school event of the year is the Sponsored Walk which is due to take place tomorrow at the school field. All children need to come into school in their full PE kit ready for action! As always, we thank HPPA for their help in organising this event and kindly ask parents and carers to donate using the Classlist app. The children always have lots of fun, challenging themselves to complete as many laps as possible!
On Tuesday 30th September, at 3.30pm, we will welcome Claire Regis (Headteacher at Hampton High) to HJS to talk about secondary school and transition. I would encourage as many parents in year 5 and 6 to attend to hear about their exciting offer and ask questions regarding your child's next steps.
Over the last few years, HJS has made significant improvements to the maths curriculum and its delivery. All the staff have worked extremely hard to embed these changes all of which have been led by Miss Cooper. Miss Cooper has now completed her training, via the Maths Hub, and is now a 'Primary Mastery Specialist' not only supporting HJS but also working to support other schools - congratulations!
Clubs are now in full swing and I am pleased to say we continue to offer a huge range across the partnership. Most clubs are run by external providers and therefore if you have any questions or concerns, your first port of call should be directly to the company. If for any reason you are not satisfied with their response, please do then speak to a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Thank you to those that attended the first compulsory volunteer meeting with myself and Mrs Gale. The second of these meetings will take place tomorrow at HISN at 9.00am.
Finally, don't forget to sign up to the Parent Reading Workshop on Tuesday 30th September at 9.15am via the link below.
I hope you and your family have a lovely weekend.

Whole School Writing Competition
We would love to see children from HJS take part in the BBC 500 words writing competition. This is a wonderful way to inspire children to explore their creative writing by writing their own story that could be read out live on the BBC by a celebrity! There are amazing prizes to win and this is a great opportunity for children to write their own story, which will inevitably boost their confidence and increase their engagement in writing.
