Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of May 14, 2023
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it. —Marian Wright
This past week we had the opportunity to honor some very special Davenport staff for earning the title of Teacher of the Year, Katie Collado, and Educational Service Professional of the Year, Chrissy Hodgins. Additionally, the Retirees, Ms Fiola and Ms Tuthill, were honored for their years of Hardwork and Dedication to the staff and students of Davenport!
We are grateful for our retirees and TOY/ESPY! Thank you for all that you continue to do to Embrace, Engage, and Educate the students you influence daily.
As the days wind down, we continue to enjoy the fun and exciting events that culminates the end of the year. Our Kindergartens and some first grade students took a trip to our local amusement park, Storybook Land for some rides and fun in the sun. We have several more trips, afterschool events, and end of the year cheer that we are looking forward to enjoying.
Parents, continue to follow our social media pages for updates and pictures.
Have a great weekend!

This week of Mental Health Awareness Month, our goal will be to encourage individuals to seek help if they need it, as well as showing the importance of supporting others by offering words of encouragement and celebrating small successes.
Let’s support each other and make it okay to reach out and seek help whenever we need it.
- Be aware of the signs and symptoms of mental health issues so that we can all work together to support one another.
- If you are worried about your mental health or are worried about someone you know, there are resources and people out there who are willing to help, no matter what your situation is.
- Whether we share resources, encourage others to seek help or simply are there for someone when they need us, we instill hope and can help other to reach out when they need it most.
We see you, we hear you, and we support you on your journey to mental health. There’s help if you need it. Call, text, or chat 988. You are not alone. #988Lifeline #NMHAM
