Family Survey Results & Our Next Steps

Thank you to the 160 families who participated in our recent survey. We are proud that 92% of respondents reported having a positive overall view of Cypress Creek High School, and 96% indicated they want their child to attend our school. Families highlighted our welcoming atmosphere, strong communication, dedicated teachers, academic focus, and the many opportunities available for students.

As we review your feedback, two areas will be priorities moving forward. First, we will do a better job sharing how family input influences decisions through regular "You Said, We Did" updates in the Howler Hub. Second, we will continue focusing on consistent student support and clear follow-through when concerns are raised, while strengthening academic supports for students who need additional assistance.

Thank you for your partnership and for helping us continuously improve Cypress Creek High School. Together, we will continue making CCHS a place where every student can thrive. 🐺💚💛

Khan Academy & Khanmigo: Free Learning Support for Every Coyote

Did you know that all Pasco County Schools students have free access to Khan Academy and Khanmigo, powerful learning tools that can support student success both in the classroom and at home?

Khan Academy provides personalized lessons, practice activities, instructional videos, and test preparation resources across a wide variety of subjects, including math, science, reading, social studies, and more. Students can learn at their own pace, review challenging concepts, and get immediate feedback as they work.

Khanmigo is an AI-powered learning assistant that helps students think through problems, understand difficult concepts, and build confidence as independent learners. Rather than simply giving answers, Khanmigo guides students with questions and step-by-step support to strengthen understanding and critical thinking skills.

How Families Can Use It at Home

Khan Academy and Khanmigo are excellent resources for:

  • Reviewing skills taught in class
  • Getting extra help with homework
  • Preparing for quizzes, tests, and exams
  • Filling learning gaps in any subject area
  • Exploring topics of personal interest
  • Building strong study habits and academic confidence

Families can encourage students to spend a few minutes each week using these tools, ask them to share what they are learning, and celebrate their progress along the way. Whether a student needs additional practice, enrichment opportunities, or support with a challenging topic, Khan Academy and Khanmigo provide personalized assistance anytime, anywhere.

We encourage all Coyotes to take advantage of these free resources and continue learning beyond the school day. Small amounts of consistent practice can make a big difference in student growth and achievement! 🐾💚💛

Updated Tardy Policy - No Quarterly Reset Updated Tardy Policy - No Quarterly Reset

Beginning Monday, November 2, Cypress Creek High School will be resetting all student tardies as we implement a new approach to support improved attendance and punctuality. This reset will provide all students with an equitable fresh start as we transition to a cumulative tardy system for the remainder of the school year.

Under this updated process, tardies will no longer reset at the end of each quarter. Instead, they will accumulate throughout the school year. This change is intended to reinforce the importance of students arriving to school and class on time and to encourage reflection on habits and routines that may be contributing to tardiness.

We are asking for your partnership in helping your child establish routines that support punctuality. Arriving on time is critical to student success. Students who are late miss important directions, instructional content, learning activities, and opportunities to engage with their teachers and peers.

It is important to understand that excessive tardiness will result in a progressive loss of privileges and disciplinary consequences, including referrals when students exceed the maximum allowable number of tardies. Our goal is not to punish students, but to help them build the responsibility and habits necessary for success in high school and beyond.

We encourage families to assist students with setting alarms, preparing for school the night before, and allowing enough time in the morning to arrive on campus and report to class before the bell rings.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we can ensure every Coyote is present, punctual, and prepared to learn every day.

At Cypress Creek High School, exceptional Coyotes leave a lasting mark on our school, and this month, we proudly celebrated two who have done just that!

Congratulations to our 2026-2027 School-Related Personnel of the Year, Ruthdali Torres, and our 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year, Phyllis Crain, as they received their personalized Coyote jackets and officially added their engraved paw prints to our Wall of Honor in the Front Office.

Their paw prints represent more than an award. They symbolize the dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment these outstanding Coyotes bring to our students, staff, and community each day. Through their hard work and leadership, they have helped shape the culture and success of Cypress Creek High School, leaving a legacy that will inspire future generations of Coyotes.

Thank you, Ruthdali and Phyllis, for all you do and for leaving your paw prints on the heart of Cypress Creek. 💚💛🐾
