Report Cards go home Monday, December 14th/Los reportes de progreso van a casa
Reports go home in students' folders today. Please take time to review your child's report card. Remember that students are assessed in some subject areas in English, some in Spanish, and in some grade levels and areas in both languages. There is a comment sheet that you can complete if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about your child's progress to return it to your child's teacher. The yellow envelope must be signed to show that you reviewed the report card and send back to school to be reused for the other future report cards.

Dear La Escuela Fratney Families,
This is Ms. Grace, your Parent Coordinator, with our Monday Message.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who planned, led, volunteered, donated, and attended our Fratney Family Movie Night on Friday. It was a wonderful success! Together, our community raised over $1,500 to support future family events, meetings, and activities. We are so grateful for your partnership and for being part of our bilingual, diverse, and vibrant school community.
This week is a five-day school week, and we invite students to participate in our fun spirit days:
-
Tuesday: Sports Day
-
Wednesday: Fancy Day
-
Thursday: Favorite Number Day
-
Friday: Fratney Spirit Day
As a reminder, in alignment with our inclusive holiday practices, we do not host school-wide holiday concerts or parties that celebrate a specific holiday. However, we are excited to continue our annual tradition of celebrating the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking cultures on Friday, December 19th. These learning activities will take place within classrooms and are designed for students to engage with their peers and teachers. This is not a school-wide presentation or a family event.
Finally, attendance matters! The classrooms with the best attendance for the month of December will be rewarded with movie tickets on Friday, December 19th. Students must be present on that day to win.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to another great week together!
Warmly,
Ms. Grace
Parent Coordinator
¡Esperamos compartir otra excelente semana juntos!
Con cariño,
Ms. Grace

Happy 1-Year Anniversary, Ms. Christine!/Feliz aniversario a Ms. Christine!
This week, we are proud to celebrate Ms. Christine’s one-year anniversary as Assistant Principal at La Escuela Fratney—and what an incredible year it has been! In this past year, Ms. Christine has made a powerful impact on our school community. From strengthening school systems and supporting academics, to improving school climate and culture, her leadership, organization, and problem-solving have helped our school thrive. She plays an integral role in so many areas of our daily work—supporting student safety, transportation, recess and Playworks, restorative discipline, special education, teacher growth, and ensuring we meet important state and district requirements. Her consistent presence with students and staff, her commitment to doing things well and on time, and her deep care for our community do not go unnoticed. Ms. Christine shows up early, stays late, and leads with heart, expertise, and dedication—always focused on what’s best for students and staff. We are truly grateful for her partnership, leadership, and the many ways she supports La Escuela Fratney every single day. Please join us in thanking Ms. Christine for all she does and in celebrating her first year with our school community!
Shout out to our school engineer Ms. Alicia!
Ms. Alicia, our school engineer, goes above and beyond for our community. From shoveling and clearing snow to checking the building on cold winter weekends, she ensures our school is safe, warm, and ready for learning every single day. Her dedication does not go unnoticed, especially during Wisconsin winters! Her building helper team also helped us clean up after our movie night and we are so grateful!

There will be one calendar for the whole district again this year. Please review this calendar before making plans for trips or vacations. Students must be in school 95% of the time or more which means they can only miss 1 day a month the whole school year. Students who miss more than 10 days of school a year fall behind academically and socially. Make a plan now to be in school every day on time.
Volunteers
Are you interested in volunteering at La Escuela Fratney? We welcome volunteers to support with arrival, lunch, and recess times. Per our school and district policies, families are not able to volunteer in their own child's classroom on an ongoing basis. If you are interested in volunteering in classrooms, it must be a different classroom and be organized and approved through the parent coordinator Ms. Grace.
