Knowledge Bowl Tradition Continues at NHS Knowledge Bowl Tradition Continues at NHS

Knowledge Bowl, as an activity, is the closest thing to a game show in high school extracurriculars. In Knowledge Bowl, 3 teams of 4 people compete to answer questions on everything from the ideal gas law to Taylor Swift.

Knowledge Bowl is an incredibly fun activity, it’s competitive, high energy, exciting, and meaningful. Knowledge bowl equips students with the ability to learn a wide range of topics, and a love of learning. Being on a team and taking part in traditions helps bring our unique community together. And it does not hurt that Northfield has an incredible record, going to state practically every year.

Blue Jackets Awarded to Local FFA Members Blue Jackets Awarded to Local FFA Members

The Minnesota FFA Foundation is pleased to announce the presentation of the official FFA jacket to members of the Northfield FFA Chapter. Tara Alaniz, Rowan Kuennen, and Molly Albers have been selected and receive their own jackets. The jacket is a symbol of tradition and pride for those who have worn the official FFA jacket. Many past members have sponsored jackets, but it’s not uncommon for individuals and companies to sponsor jackets because they appreciate what the organization does to develop young leaders,” says Val Aarsvold, Minnesota FFA Foundation Executive Director.

The Northfield FFA & Minnesota FFA Foundation wishes to thank the sponsors of the Blue Jackets

Bright Futures program this year. The sponsors of this program are what make it possible for our FFA students to have a successful experience with FFA! Thank you for making a difference in the lives of a student.

Principal Update- Spring Semester Set to Begin on January 23rd Principal Update- Spring Semester Set to Begin on January 23rd

zoom_out_map

Dear NHS Staff, Students and Families,

It is hard to believe we've entered the second half of the school year! Our winter activity seasons are approaching the post season and 2nd semester is in full swing. Midterm for 3rd quarter is February 21st. NHS reimagine core planning team has been on tours of other high schools to gather ideas to apply to our high school facility design. While this work is incredibly important, we're also beginning the work of budget prioritization for the coming year. Balancing the reimagine building project planning with current budget challenges will require us to take a big picture view. Planning for the future and addressing immediate budget concerns can both be true at the same time. We will do these important tasks together keeping our focus on ensuring our students receive a quality learning experience.

We will continue to work hard to create, support and nurture a culture of leadership and excellence at NHS. Please reach out to teachers, counselors and administration if you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Shane Baier

NHS Principal
