GT Counselor Training Clarification

After confirming with TEA, we wanted to make sure a question that arose in our GT Coordinator meeting received the attention it needed. Which school counselors need to take the 6 hour GT counselor training? According to TEA, if a school counselor works with any gifted students in their capacity as a counselor, they must take the 6 hour GT training. It is not dependent upon them being a part of the identification process, being on the committee, or making decisions in programming.

GT Foundations Parts 1 & 2

For GT Coordinators Only:

After surveying our group at the GT Coordinators' Meeting Tuesday, September 27, Region 10 has decided it will continue to provide GT foundations Parts 1 & 2 face-to-face, through in person and blended learning opportunities, and allow districts to share codes with specific teachers for the online versions of them, on a case-by-case basis. District coordinators can reach our to Jessica Gitzinger for this semester's codes. Thank you for your input!
