~Happy Thanksgiving~
We have plenty to be thankful for here in Sherman County, and in our school.
As you and your family head into the holiday break, I want to express my gratitude for your investment in your student's education and in partnering with us here at school to support your student. I hope your Thanksgiving holiday is filled with restful, joyful time with family.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Fall

Husky Student Writer Spotlight
When asked to say something, Dev Patel answers, โsomething.โ
It is now the second quarter of the year, which means that plenty has changed for all of the students here in Sherman County, including us here in the leadership class. With the new quarter, many of the teams have shifted around, and many new ones have been created to further divide up the projects that we are working on. Although many things have changed, the social media team has continued to make their videos and continue to make important contributions to the school. Dev Patel and others have been hard at work attempting to acquire a vending machine for the student body.
At the start of the month of November, a small number of leadership students went on a trip to Seaside for a leadership conference. The students who went were Allison Rolfe, Addison Smith, Cadin Walker, and Colton Holliday, the guy who is writing the article that you are currently reading. At this conference, there was a speaker and people who gave speeches and a lot more, including some chicken nuggets that tasted horrible, like they were cold but not normal cold, more like room temperature cold and they had this funky taste and they just were so awkward to chew and I have just BAMBOOZLED you into reading about me eating a chicken nugget. Overall, as someone who went, I thought that it was pretty fun and enjoyable with all the things. We also brought back with us plenty of ideas and concepts to use here at the school, most notably the idea of a news team that covers the school news in a way that isnโt just boring announcements, but instead a bit more exciting.
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, many new teams have been added to the leadership class in an effort to further divide up projects and make them more centralized. The first new team is the vending machine team, which is in charge of, well, the vending machine or getting one, and then afterward (in the event that it goes through in the first place) will manage said vending machine. Second, the husky merch team, which is in charge of the merch designing, ordering, and the like. Finally, there is the news team, which is in charge of future Husky News projects and this article.
As always, we are very thankful for being able to do these projects and continue to be a part of Sherman County School.
Sincerely, The Leadership Class

Husky Athletic Updates
Congratulations Volleyball & Football Teams!
Our Husky fall sports teams excelled this year in both volleyball and football.
๐Volleyball finished with an overall record of 19-7, before traveling to St. Paul for the first round of state playoffs, falling there to St. Paul, who ended in the final 8 in the state. A big congratulations to the coaches on a successful season as well as the players below who earned all-league honors.
๐ 1st team - Kiara Peters
๐ 2nd team - Irene Ghirardello
๐ Honorable Mention - Addison Smith
๐Football hosted the first round of the state playoffs, beating North Lake 52-12. Moving on to the state quarterfinals, our Huskies traveled to the 3-seeded favorite, Eddyville Charter where we handed them only their second loss of the season, upsetting them 26-19 on their home field. The state semifinal game in Baker City was a rematch for our Huskies, against a very tough Harper Charter team. Our Huskies came up short in the semifinal game, but battled hard against the two-seeded team representing Sherman County well. The last time our Huskies advanced this far in state was over 10 years ago, so a big congratulations to the coaches, team, and athletes below who earned individual honors.
