WALK A THON - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25
On Friday September, 25 our school participated in the Annual Walk-a-thon. We raised $24,103.57 for our School! WAY TO GO, Eagles! Thank you to all who supported, gave, volunteered, and cheered on your Eagle Ace Family!
It was a cloudy, but amazing day! On behalf of Dr. Jung and the entire Eagles' staff, we thank the PTA for putting on such an amazing event that brings in dollars that fund many events at Eagles. Additionally, we couldn't have done it without the families that were willing to seek support from family and friends. We are very grateful for your support. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped make the day successful

RESPECT
RESPECT
This October, our school-wide character trait is Respect. Being respectful we try to follow the "Golden Rule" by treating others how you want to be treated. Be courteous, accept differences, and avoid bullying.
We believe that character education is a powerful partnership between school and home. Here is a look at how respect translates to different areas of your child's life, along with specific behaviors you can encourage, look for, and celebrate this month:
Respect is a cornerstone of a positive school community and a fulfilling life. When we practice respect, we build stronger relationships, create safer environments, and foster a culture of kindness.
Here is how Respect breaks down across different areas of your child's life this month, along with the specific behaviors you can encourage, look for, and celebrate at home:
🏠 Respect at Home
Home is where character education begins. Modeling and practicing respect within the family sets the foundation for how children interact with the outside world.
- Active Listening: Encourage your child to put down distractions, make eye contact, and listen without interrupting when a family member is speaking.
- Honoring Boundaries: Teach them to ask before borrowing items from siblings or parents, and to respect others' personal space and need for quiet time.
- Courteous Language: Look for and celebrate the consistent use of "please," "thank you," and "excuse me" during daily routines.
🏫 Respect at School
A respectful classroom ensures that every student feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.
- Valuing Teachers and Staff: Encourage your child to follow classroom rules, raise their hand to speak, and express gratitude to teachers, bus drivers, and cafeteria staff.
- Caring for Property: Look for behaviors like cleaning up after oneself, taking care of school textbooks, and treating school equipment with care.
- Accepting Differences: Talk to your child about celebrating diverse backgrounds, viewpoints, and learning styles among their classmates.
👥 Respect in Friendships & Play
The "Golden Rule" is most active during social interactions. Preventing bullying starts with intentional, respectful peer relationships.
- Inclusive Behavior: Encourage your child to invite lonely classmates to join games at recess or sit with them at lunch.
- Constructive Conflict Resolution: Look for your child using "I" statements to express feelings instead of shouting or resorting to name-calling when disagreements happen.
- Digital Respect: If your child uses text or online platforms, remind them to only send messages they would say to someone's face, avoiding gossip or exclusion.
🌍 Respect for the Community & Environment
Respect extends beyond the people we know to the shared spaces we all inhabit.
- Public Courtesy: Practice holding doors open for others, keeping voices at an appropriate volume in public indoor spaces, and waiting patiently in lines.
- Environmental Care: Encourage picking up litter, recycling when possible, and respecting public parks or wildlife.
Thank you for partnering with us to raise thoughtful, engaged, and responsible kids!
We encourage our students to live the ACE way which is be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible at school, at home, and in the community.
ATTENDANCE - MAKE IT A GOAL!
We will be starting an attendance incentive for the classrooms with the best overall attendance rate and the most improved attendance rates per classroom.

Annual Notification of Rights Under FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”) affords parents and students who are 18 years of age or older (“eligible students”) certain rights with respect to the student’s education records. Each year, the District must provide parents and eligible students notice of these rights under FERPA. View all rights afforded to parents and eligible students.
Title I Documents
Eagles receives federal funds for Title I programs that are part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). As a recipient of these funds, our school will provide engaging learning opportunites for our learners by sharing responsibility with both parents and students to improve academic achievement, as outlined in the School-Parent Compact. Additionally, Eagles Elementary is required to notify parents of particular components outlined in the law. Through the Interactive Dashboard, parents are able to be notified regarding the performance measures outlined in the state’s accountability system. The Parents Right to Know document is also a valuable resource as it lays out what information parents have the right to request and ascertain from the school regarding topics like the professional qualifications of staff, state and local policy, and parental rights regarding student participation in mandated assessments. The District School Parent and Family Engagement Policy outlines what actions FPS and the school will be taking to provide effective parent and family engagement activities to improve student achievement and school performance. Copies of each of these documents can be found below, and you are encouraged to read through them and learn about how the school and district provide both academic and social-emotional learning opportunities.
