A Message from Dr. Holt
Dear RFISD Community,
It has been a great start to the 2026–2027 school year. We love having our students back on campus and seeing our classrooms filled with activity once again!
I want to thank our teachers and staff for the tremendous amount of work that went into preparing for the year ahead. Long before our students walked through the doors on the first day of school, our staff members were hard at work making sure our campuses were ready to welcome them. I am grateful for the care and commitment they bring to our students each day.
To our parents and families, thank you for your continued partnership and for trusting us with your children. One of the things that makes RFISD special is the connection between our schools, families, and community. I encourage you to stay involved throughout the year, attend events when you can, keep up with district and campus communications, and reach out whenever you have questions.
We have a lot to look forward to in the months ahead, and I am excited to see what our students accomplish both inside and outside the classroom. Most importantly, I hope each of our students finds something this year that challenges them, excites them, and gives them another reason to be proud that they are part of the RFISD community.
Here’s to an outstanding 2026–2027 school year!
Warm Regards,
Dr. Brian Holt

STANDARD RESPONSE PROTOCOL
As a reminder, RFISD has implemented a district-wide safety plan, following the Standard Response Protocols outlined in the graphic below.
This widely recognized program is designed to enhance the safety and security of our students, staff, and community. It provides a clear, consistent approach to emergency response, ensuring that everyone knows what to do in various situations. We are committed to creating a safe learning environment, and this addition to our safety measures is a key step in that effort. Further details can be found below.
All safety notifications will be communicated via ParentSquare, and, in the event that we activate one of the safety actions below, you will receive a text, email, and/or phone call using the action words: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, or Shelter.
In the event of an actual HOLD, SECURE, LOCKDOWN, EVACUATE, or SHELTER situation (not a drill situation), you will be notified based on the following:
1. In non-threatening/non-urgent safety situations, you will receive a “Smart Alert”—this means that you will receive the information based on your preferred ParentSquare communication settings.
2. In the event of a serious safety situation, you will receive an “Urgent Alert”—this means that you will receive the information immediately, regardless of your preferred notification settings.
Please note, in any drill OR actual emergency situation, it is imperative that parents/guardians NOT come to or contact the campus upon receiving the notification, unless instructed to do so. We ask that you remain available and continue to monitor ParentSquare for updates, but, again, please do not come to or contact the campus. We will always share additional information via ParentSquare as soon as we are able.
Please be sure to follow our official RFISD Facebook page if you aren't already. You can find the page by clicking on the "F" above, or you can search Facebook for "Randolph Field Independent School District." The Randolph Elementary School Facebook page and the Randolph Secondary Schools Facebook page are no longer active, as we continue to use ParentSquare as our primary communication tool.
Thank you to all of the students, parents, and teachers who post wonderful pictures that we often use in our district newsletters!
