Homecoming is almost here! We're excited to celebrate the week of October 4–10. Full event details are coming soon, but you can find information on ordering your Homecoming t-shirt and details for the dance below.

With the Homecoming Dance coming up on Saturday, October 10 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., it’s time to start planning your look! Whether you’re going semi-formal or dressy-casual we want everyone looking sharp and ready to dance. While elevated style is encouraged, standard dress code rules apply—no hats or hoods will be permitted inside the building.

If you plan to bring a guest from another school to the dance, guest passes will be available at the bookkeeping office until Thursday, October 1. All completed guest passes must be submitted to the bookkeeping office no later than Friday, October 2, by 3:30 p.m. Please remember that guests must be at least in the 9th grade and no older than 19 years old.

The Homecoming Dance tickets will go on sale on Monday, September 21 at the Bookkeeping Office for $10.

Take the time to plan ahead, look your absolute best, and make it a night to remember!

The deadline to order a t-shirt is Sunday, September 27. T-shirts will be delivered to WHS the week of Homecoming.

Sean Douglass - Language Arts Teacher

Sean is joining our English Language Arts Department this year. Sean grew up in Fox Point, a suburb of Milwaukee, and later attended UW–Madison, where he earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Outside of the classroom, Sean is a passionate theatre fan who loves reading and attending plays, and he’s currently diving back into playwriting. When he isn't engaging with theatre, you can find him playing video games or hosting podcasts with friends focused on video game history.

Give Your Child a Global Perspective: Germany 2027

We are excited to offer all WHS students a unique opportunity to expand their horizons through an educational travel experience to Germany in June of '27. (No knowledge of German required!)

Travel changes how young people see the world—and themselves. Beyond sights in the culturally rich areas of Munich, Salzburg and the Alps, this trip is designed to build real-world confidence, cultural literacy, and independence in a safe, structured environment.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • College & Career Readiness: Experiential learning and international travel stand out on college applications and scholarship essays, demonstrating curiosity and global awareness.

  • Hands-On Learning: History, language, and culture come alive outside the textbook, helping students make deeper connections to their school curriculum.

  • Personal Growth: Navigating new environments and a stay with a German family helps students build self-reliance, adaptability, and lifelong friendships.

Join Us for an Information Session We know an international trip is a significant investment and decision for your family. We are hosting a brief meeting to cover the complete itinerary, safety protocols, academic benefits, and flexible payment plans.

  • When: Sunday, September 20

  • Where: WHS, Room S274

  • Time: 6 p.m.

Can’t make the meeting? Click the link above to view the digital information packet. Contact Frau Schneider (schneiderk@mywusd.org) with any questions.

School counselors are currently conducting senior check-ins to review plans discussed during junior conferences last year. Families are not expected to attend as the meetings are simply follow up conversations.
