Celebrating March Events at Fairfax!

Dear Fairfax Families,

March is here, bringing with it exciting celebrations and important events in our school and community. Here’s what’s happening this week at Fairfax!

Women’s History Month

March marks the beginning of Women’s History Month, a time to honor the achievements and contributions of women throughout history. Throughout the month, our students will engage in activities and discussions that highlight the impact of inspiring women in various fields.

Attendance Matters
Every day counts! Attending school regularly helps students build strong habits and stay engaged in their learning. Please ensure your child is present and on time unless they are ill. Let’s work together to give them the best chance to succeed.

School Social Work Week (March 3-7)

This week, we celebrate School Social Work Week and recognize the incredible work of our school social worker, Ms. Edie Fiala. Ms. Fiala plays a vital role in supporting our students and families, and we are so grateful for her dedication and care. Please take a moment to show your appreciation for all she does!

Maintenance Worker & Cleaner Appreciation Day – Friday, March 7

On Friday, March 7, we also take time to thank our maintenance workers and cleaners who work tirelessly to keep our school safe, clean, and welcoming. Their hard work often goes unnoticed, but their impact is felt every day. A simple “thank you” goes a long way in showing our appreciation!

Upcoming Events

📌 Monday, March 3 – PTA Fundraiser: Dewey’s Pizza Night!
Fairfax PTA invites all families to Dewey’s Pizza from 4:00 – 9:00 PM to help raise funds for the 4th-grade trip to Columbus this spring! Families can dine in or order carryout, but be sure to mention "Fairfax PTA" when ordering so that 20% of sales go toward our cause. The 4th-grade trip to visit the state capital is a special Fairfax tradition, and your support will help make it a great experience for our students!

📌 Tuesday, March 4 – Kindergarten Information Night
Families with incoming kindergarten students are invited to Fairfax Elementary at 6:00 p.m. for an informational session about the upcoming school year. We look forward to welcoming our newest Fairfax families!

📌 Wednesday, March 5 – Internet Safety & Social Media Presentation
Join the Ohio ICAC Task Force at Heights High at 6:00 p.m. for an important discussion on internet safety and social media. This is a great opportunity for families to learn how to keep children safe in today’s digital world.

📌 Saturday, March 8 – International Women’s Day
We recognize International Women’s Day, a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Let’s take this day to uplift and celebrate the amazing women in our lives!

📌 Sunday, March 9 – Daylight Saving Time Begins
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour as Daylight Saving Time begins!

Thank you for your continued support in making Fairfax a wonderful learning community. Let’s make it a great week!
