What's Happening at DCMS
April 2026 Newsletter
Dear Families,
As we move into April, it is hard to believe how quickly this school year has gone by. Our students and staff have been working incredibly hard, and we are proud to share that ISASP testing has now been successfully completed. We appreciate the support from families in ensuring students were present, prepared, and ready to do their best during testing. Their effort and perseverance truly reflect the dedication of our school community.
Attendance continues to be a top priority as we head into the final stretch of the school year. Every day of learning matters, and consistent attendance helps students stay engaged, maintain strong academic progress, and build positive habits that will benefit them beyond the classroom. We encourage families to continue supporting regular attendance and arriving to school on time each day.
As we look ahead to the final weeks of the school year, our focus is on finishing the year strong—academically, behaviorally, and socially. There are still many important learning opportunities, activities, and celebrations to come. We are excited to continue working together to support our students’ success and make the remainder of the school year both productive and memorable.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our school.

Attendance Matters
We wish you a restful and refreshing spring break beginning on April 3rd!
In the face of challenging weather and illness, our teachers, families and students have persisted to keep learning and engaged! We appreciate everyone’s hard work and commitment to our school community. Thank you, thank you!
When school resumes on April7th, students will be looking forward to coming back to class with lots of field trips and exciting incentive opportunities coming up over the last two months of school.
As long as your student is healthy, please encourage showing up to class when school is in session. If you have questions about your student coming to school due to a health or mental health concern, please contact Mr. Milder or Mrs. Dixon at 641-664-2200.
Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn and connect to peers and their teachers.
Until then, have a wonderful spring break!
Thank you,
David Milder
