The Ferrazzani Friday Update
February 28th, 2025

π Happy FriYAYπ
A Note from your Principals
Hey there Wolves! I cannot believe we are almost through another month! This week we had SO many students shouting out their peers and their teachers for all the amazing work they do and it's safe to say our WOLF Wall of shoutouts is taking over the hallway! If you have not yet received a hard copy of your child's report card, please let me know and I will make sure I send a copy home with them this week. A reminder that although next week is a short week, it is important that we are keeping up attendance for those two and a half days! We never want students to miss out on the learning and the fun of CCSL Elementary!
π Half Day Wednesday π
Dismissal at 12:30
Just a reminder that, Wednesday 11/26 is a half day for students! Dismissal will be at 12:30 and there will be no after school program. Please make sure your student knows how they are going home for the half day. If there is a change to the way your student is going home, it needs to be made through the front office by 10am. We will not be accepting any Parent Square messages as a change in dismissal.
Also, a reminder that if a student gets dismissed before 12:30 on the half day they will be marked absent for the entire day.
Please make sure you are on time (12:30) to pick up your students as staff will be heading home to spend the holiday with their loved ones.

π« Student Handbook π«
A Review of Policies and Procedures
Please take some time to review the student handbook for grades K-4. We will ask you to sign off on this when logging into PowerSchool to access your student's grades.
π Dismissal Reminders π
A Few Reminders to Help Keep Everyone Safe
Our goal is to always make sure dismissal runs smoothly and safely.
- ALL Parent Pickup cars should be in the pickup lane (Right-hand drive, closest to the school)
- There should be no cars in the bus lane or parked in parking spots to pick up students
- All cars must pull up to the sidewalk to get students. Students will not be allowed to cross into traffic.
- All parents should remain in their cars to keep the flow of traffic moving
- Students will enter cars through the rear passenger side door.
If you need to change how your student is going home for a day, it needs to go through the front office by 2:00!
Students will also not be able to be dismissed after 3:00. If you need to pull your kiddo out early for an appointment please make sure it is before 3:00 and that the front office is notified earlier in the day.
π Standards Based Grading π
Please see a breakdown of Standards Scoring Below
A new standards-based report card format has been introduced in grades K-4 in the 2025-2026 school year. While parents and students in grades K-4 will continue to view report cards through Power School, the format will look different. Students in grades 3-4 will continue to receive a letter grade for each subject, but will also be assessed using state standards for each subject area, including specials. Kindergarteners will continue to be assessed using only standards. Grades K-2 will be standards only, no letter grades. Teachers will assess students using the state standards to insure clarity and consistency in expectations across classroom and grade levels. The standards-based design will allow more detailed feedback aligned with specific learning goals for each of the subjects, thereby aiding parents, students, teachers and administrators to focus on growth and areas needing additional support.
