4) What does the School Library Capstone Portfolio look like?
As part of the UNCG Library and Information Science graduate program, the capstone portfolio is a web-based culminating assessment that demonstrates your mastery of the program’s learning outcomes and readiness for professional practice. Your portfolio is reviewed by the K–12 Licensure Committee and the University committee and must align with AASL School Library Evaluation(076) Standards, ISTE Standards for Coaches (Dual), and the LIS Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs).
The portfolio should present clear evidence of your knowledge across core competencies, your ability to apply theory to practice, and your growth as an information professional. It must also demonstrate how your work supports student learning and engagement.
Ultimately, your portfolio should showcase not only what you have learned, but how you will apply this learning to guide professional decision-making and lead an effective future library program.
