Valentine's Day was an incredibly exciting day at KRS! Students and staff celebrated with cards, decorations, and by wearing red and pink clothing. Thank you to the KRS PTO members for dressing-up to make arrival on Valentine's Day so much fun for all! In addition, doughnut treats and office decorations for staff were provided by the KRS PTO.

Next week, schools are closed for students on Monday, February 20, 2023 for President's Day and Tuesday, February 21, 2023 for Staff In-Service.

We will see the students back at KRS on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Have a wonderful long weekend!

We have begun the countdown to our visit from author/illustrator, Troy Cummings! He will be here on February 28. Be on the lookout for information from the PTO on how you can order a book for him to sign.

All KRS families are invited to attend the KRS Reading Night On April 18, 2023 from 6:30 - 7:30.

The KRS Art Show will also be held that evening beginning at 6 PM.

On Friday, February 17th, all students participated in Mix-It Up lunches. Students were assigned tables at lunchtime. Tables were named after animals such as the elephant table and the owl table. These random table assignments gave students the opportunity to eat and socialize with students they normally don't sit next to during lunch.

Move over Jerry Seinfeld. The students in the picture (Claire, Olivia, Noelle, Varnik, Henrique, and Hamish) all participated in the PTO Enrichment class, "Stand up Comedy Workshop." Our final class featured a performance for parents. Each student performed their routine to many laughs. Some of the jokes were about Siri giving us the wrong information, the coolness factor of the cello, and parents playing online poker when they are supposed to be working. The students did a great job making their parents laugh. Congratulations!!
