Week of January 29, 2023
The Johnson ECC staff has been engaged in Professional Development that supports Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning. We started this work during the 2021-2022 school year and will continue our learning journey. From this important work we have developed a new school vision statement for our Johnson ECC Community. (see below) And, at the last Professional Development Day held in January, the staff took a deeper dive into the physical environment of the classroom and lesson planning. We are so proud of the commitment by our staff to dig deep and reflect upon the work they do everyday to support and educate our students.
This week we want to highlight a school wide project initiated by ESP Mrs. Gavin. She has started a picture campaign to be sure all students have representation within our school community. She has taken beautiful pictures to brighten up the school hallways with happy students engaging in high quality PreK teaching and learning experiences. See some of the pictures below.
Thank you to Mrs. Gavin for exemplifying the meaning of Super Friend!
Health and Safety:
If your child is out for more than 3 consecutive days, you must have a doctor's note in order for your child to return to school. If you need to email Nurse Hilton her email is as follows:
bernadette.hilton@weymouthschools.org
In Massachusetts, the law requires every person riding in a passenger motor vehicle to wear a seat belt that is properly fastened and adjusted. Children are required to sit in a federally approved child passenger restraint. The child's seat should be suitable for their age and weight. Please make sure your children are properly buckled into their seatbelts before exiting the school driveway.

Parent Council
Looking for new members! Our current leadership team will be moving on to the primary schools this fall. We value and appreciate all that they have been able to do this school year for our students and staff. Please consider joining this amazing group of volunteers that provide support to our Johnson School community as we will be looking for future leaders for the 2023- 2024 school year.
Parent Council provides many opportunities for you to connect with other parents and become involved in the Johnson ECC school community. Parent Council supports our students and teachers with educational programs, supplies, and more. Parent involvement is the foundation for school success. Have a suggestion or a talent to share? We want to know!
