Principal's Message
Assalam Aleikum!
Dear NISL Families,
I am excited to welcome our students back from winter break as we begin the spring semester. We kicked off the new term with a school-wide assembly led by our amazing middle school STUCO team. They reviewed our school-wide behavior expectations through an interactive question and answer session with fun skits and once again demonstrated excellent planning and leadership skills.
Quarter 2 report cards, Merit Roll, Honor Roll, Principal’s List awards, and Honor Society invitations were distributed today. Teachers have also shared i-Ready assessment results and student data chats (2nd-12th grade) with families.
As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches, we are preparing for our annual Islamic Quick Recall Competition, which will take place next week. Our students will participate in the competition with HIRA Institute on Tuesday and Wednesday.
To prepare, there will be an in-school practice match on Monday, January 12, and parents are invited to attend! Our students have been working very hard in preparation for this event.
Islamic Quick Recall requires focus, quick thinking, and confidence under pressure. This is a wonderful opportunity to see our students’ dedication and teamwork in action. While no trophy will be awarded for the practice match, the true reward is the experience and knowledge our students gain. We hope you can join us to cheer them on!
Practice Match Schedule (Monday, January 12):
• 12:45 pm – 1:20 pm: Upper Elementary (Grades 3–5)
• 2:30 pm – 3:20 pm: Middle School (Grades 6–8)
Please be sure to stop by the main office upon arrival to receive a visitor pass. Our office staff will then guide you to the match location.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday!
As a reminder, please be sure to check the Parent Monthly Calendar regularly to stay informed of upcoming school events and activities.
Sincerely,
Aisha Blagaia
Principal
