Season of Hope, Peace, Joy, & Love

Hallway Highlights
Birthday Blessings 🎉🌟
Thank you to the SPCS students and families for their incredible generosity through our “Birthday Blessings” donations!
Together, SPCS raised $500, allowing our students to create 20 Birthday Blessings, each containing a Kwik Star gift card. These blessings will help bring joy to children on their special day while remembering and honoring our Savior.
During this Advent season, it truly fills our hearts with joy to spread love, kindness, and hope to others—especially as we celebrate the gift of giving and the joy of Christ’s love.
Advent Retreat 💜💜💗💜
To celebrate the Advent season, SPCS students participated in an Advent retreat on Monday morning. Our entire school gathered at the church, where the retreat began with a short skit performed by our 5th graders. Students then rotated through five stations focused on the themes of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.
During the rotations, students made decorations for local nursing homes, created Advent bracelets, played Advent Bingo, and painted handprint Advent wreaths. The morning also included an Advent-themed snack mix and hot cocoa.
We concluded our retreat back at the church with a closing prayer and song. This special time together reminded us of the importance of preparing our hearts for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, during the Advent season.
🍎Fruit of the Spirit Spotted at SPCS!🍓
This month, our students focused on displaying Joy.
When students show kindness, help a friend, pray together, or serve others during Advent, the Fruit of the Spirit, Joy, is alive and growing in them. This joy isn’t about presents or parties; it comes from welcoming Jesus into our hearts and sharing His love with others.
We are so proud of how SPCS students continue to shine with God’s love and characteristics!

Fruit of the Spirit Spotlight - Self-Control 🍇
Self-Control is the last Fruit of the Spirit. Self-Control means making good choices and controlling your actions, words, and even your feelings, instead of just doing whatever you want.
-
Self-Control looks like waiting patiently instead of grabbing something right away.
-
Self-Control looks like using kind words even when you’re upset.
-
Self-Control looks like staying focused on your work instead of getting distracted.
-
Self-Control looks like choosing to do the right thing, even if it’s hard or others are not.
When we show self-control, we act in ways that please God and help us live peacefully with others.
