Summer Updates for Families
Message from the Principal

Message From the Superintendent
Dear Triumph Family:
As we begin the month of May, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to two groups whose impact is truly meaningful—our Principals and our Teachers.
May 1 marks National School Principals Day, and next week we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week from May 5–9. These moments of recognition remind us just how essential your leadership, guidance, and care are to the mission of Triumph Public High Schools.
To our Principals—thank you for the many hats you wear each day. Your ability to support your campus, lead with compassion, and make thoughtful decisions speaks to the kind of servant leadership that keeps our schools grounded and growing. You help create school communities where students feel supported, staff feel valued, and families feel welcomed.
To our Teachers—you are the heart of our classrooms and the ones who keep students connected and hopeful. Your patience, creativity, and dedication show in the way you teach and care. You meet students where they are and help them believe in themselves again. You remind them that every day is a chance to keep going and keep growing.
May is also Mental Health Awareness Month, and we’re especially grateful for our Counselors, SFSCs, CIS staff, and mental health partners who support the emotional well-being of our students each day. Your care, guidance, and steady presence make a lasting difference.
As we near the end of the school year, I know that this time can be both rewarding and demanding. Graduation season reminds us why we do this work—to give students the chance to cross a finish line they once thought was out of reach. What you do matters. You are helping students Triumph—many of whom are overcoming obstacles most people will never fully see or understand.
At Triumph, we are committed to dropout recovery and second chances. That mission lives and breathes because of you. Thank you for believing in our students, and for giving your time, heart, and talent to help them succeed.
With Deep Appreciation,
Frances Berrones-Johnson

Laredo North Pep Ralley
Laredo North is taking a proactive approach to helping students cope with the stress of STAAR testing by organizing a pep rally! Events like these can be a great way to ease anxiety, boost morale, and foster a positive atmosphere among students. By celebrating the efforts and hard work of the students, a pep rally can help them feel supported and less overwhelmed. It’s great to see schools taking such initiatives to prioritize mental health alongside academics!
I scream, you scream, Mercedes screams for ice cream!
Mercedes treats its students and staff to ice cream as a gesture of appreciation or celebration, offering a fun and refreshing break for everyone involved.
