Good evening, Trojan Families!

This is a message from your proud principal, Mrs. Kinard, and the school leaders at Ferndale Middle School. We strongly encourage you to access the digital version of this announcement, available on our school website and social media. It contains additional important information that you and your students need to know.

As we head into the final week before Spring Break, we have a few important updates and celebrations to share!

📄 Report Cards

3rd Quarter Report Cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday, April 8th. Please take some time to review your child’s progress and reach out to teachers with any questions or concerns.

🧠 Final NWEA Assessments
Students will take their final NWEA assessments on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. These assessments are a key part of tracking student growth and identifying areas for support and enrichment.

  • The homeroom with the best attendance on testing days will be entered into a drawing for a special treat delivery!

  • Students who show 10 points or more of growth on their NWEA will be invited to our Sweet Success Celebration later this month!

🎉 Celebrating Our Assistant Principals!
This week is National Assistant Principal Week, and we would like to give a big shout-out to our incredible assistant principals! Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to our students and staff make Ferndale Middle a truly special place. If you see them this week, please help us celebrate them with a kind word or note of appreciation!

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let’s finish the week strong before we head into a well-deserved Spring Break!

GCS Immigration Response GCS Immigration Response

Every family should know that every child in Guilford County has the Constitutional right to attend school regardless of immigration status. The Guilford County Schools does not request or record information about a student’s immigration status. Federal and state laws protect student information from disclosure to others, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). GCS does not permit non-students, including ICE agents, access to GCS facilities unless they can produce a warrant signed by a federal judge. School administrators will not permit the disclosure of confidential student information without first consulting their attorney to make sure that the information has been properly subject to a federal judge’s warrant.

Families should consult community resources to learn their rights and additional information will be provided to help families access these resources.
