AI-enabled Wearables AI-enabled Wearables

We understand that technology is ever-changing and it is important that we ensure a school environment that supports privacy, respect, and academic fairness. One of the newest trends are AI-enabled wearable devices such as Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. These devices offer conveniences in a public setting, but raise concerns within our educational setting.

These devices allow for discrete, hands-free recording of video and audio, making it impossible to guarantee the privacy and security of our school community in classrooms, common areas, and private spaces. Also, the AI features and real-time information access pose a significant risk of unfair advantages and unauthorized assistance during learning and assessment.

Do to the reasons listed above, AI-enabled wearables are not permitted in the school. The use of these devices is against Policy 212: Academic Integrity; 237: Electronic Devices; 815: Acceptable Use; and 806: Mobile Devices.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
