Summit Hill Elementary
December- Sunny Insight
Message from Principal Aronow
Dear Summit Hill Parents, Guardians, and Students,
I hope everyone is having a grateful Thanksgiving with family and friends. Rest up and hold on tight because December will be fast and furious! We have many events and activities planned for our students. The December calendar is below. We also have some surprises for our students that will not be on the calendar.
Time is flying by and our 1st semester will be over with before we know it. I hope all parents have had a parent/teacher conference with their teacher at this point; however, if you have not, please contact your teacher to get one set up. Once our teachers return to school in January, they will meet with the next grade level up to determine the top concepts for each subject area students needs to know prior to moving to the next grade level. We want to ensure our students are prepared and ready for the next grade. During your parent/teacher conference, your teacher will discuss academic strengths and weaknesses so you both can collaborate on a plan for your student's success.
We have had a few career day presentations and our latest was from Zimmerer Kabota and our students LOVED it! The team from Zimmerer Kabota brought out some equipment for students to see close up and gave everyone the opportunity to ask questions. If you would like to present to our students or know someone that would like to, please let me know and we can get something set up.
I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving break! As always, if you have any questions, please reach out at 903-745-4100 or at Aronow.Rebecca@HoweISD.net.
Warm regards,
Rebecca Aronow

SHOUT OUTS!
Bristol Robertson
Summit Hill wants to give a big SHOUT OUT to Bristol Robertson! Bristol was out top seller on campus. She worked so hard and sold $1,218 worth of Popcorn! Way to go, Bristol! Summit Hill greatly appreciates your hard work and we would to shout "THANK YOU" from the rooftop!
Jordan Davis
We want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to one of our Summit Hill parents, Jordan Davis. She came in on Friday, November 22nd and painted some of our windows to transition us into the winter season. The students were already excited about the windows at dismissal. Some of the many comments were, "Look at the windows!", "The windows are so pretty!", "The penguin is so cute!", and "Snowman! I love to make a snowman!". Thank you so much, Ms. Davis, for brightening up our campus and putting many smiles on our student's faces.
