Planning for the End of Spring Trimester

Thursday, June 5th is our last student day!

All grades 9, 10 and 11 students will have Final Assessments in classes on June 4 and 5. Seniors in good standing are not required to take Finals. Seniors last day is Friday , May 30th.

Teachers will NOT be giving Finals early to grades 9, 10 and 11. If a student is absent on June 4 or 5 the teacher should be informed and will leave the Final Assessment with our Registrar in Counseling. The student would be able to come in during the summer to make up that assessment. Once the teacher returns to grade the work a final grade in the class will be determined.

The Secretary of State, Steve Simon, presented Brady Sternberg with the prestigious John Lewis Youth Leadership Award last Friday. As a 2024 graduate, Brady Sternberg has made an indelible mark on our community, making this recognition both a significant honor and a testament to his exceptional contributions. Congratulations, Brady!

This award is designed to celebrate young, talented, and civic-minded individuals under the age of 25 from each state. Each year, Secretaries of State have the opportunity to recognize two recipients within their state. Brady Sternberg’s recognition with this award highlights his dedication to leadership and social change, echoing the values championed by John Lewis. We are immensely proud of Brady and look forward to witnessing his future achievements.

After the party’s over, give your graduation yard sign a second life! Dakota County is hosting a free drop-off recycling collection to keep graduation and other yard signs out of the landfill. Yard signs do not belong in the home recycling cart. The plastic and metal can be made into new products only when collected and recycled separately.

High school seniors and their families are encouraged to drop off rigid corrugated plastic signs and metal stakes from June 1-August 15 at the Dakota County Western Service Center in Apple Valley in the collection bin inside the lobby. Signs will be taken to Choice Plastics, a local plastic recycler in Minnesota. See the Recycling Guide for more information.
