HV Update 1-23-26

We had a great Harmony Week here at HV! Next week, the Third Grade Bookwormy will take place on Wednesday evening at 7:00pm in the APR.

It seems as though the snowy forecast for Sunday is all the students are talking about! I hope everyone stays safe, warm, and enjoys the football games. I don't want to jinx it, but it's entirely possible we don't see you back at HV until Tuesday.

At last night's Board of Education Meeting, Mrs. Greta Napa was approved as our new general music teacher, replacing Mrs. Finnen upon her retirement next week. Mrs. Napa has spent the school year working in our music department at PV and SJG. She is looking forward to joining us full-time and will spend time with Mrs. Finnen next week.

Congratulations to Mrs. Finnen on an amazing career! We are indebted to her for her years of service and contributions to our music program. She will be missed!

Today, we successfully conducted our monthly security drill. The drill was for staff only and students did not participate. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

Kindergarten registration is now live. Please see information below. Children who turn five on or before October 1, 2026 and reside in Pequannock Township are eligible to enroll.

Winter storm Fern is expected to bring lots of snow and freezing cold temperatures our way. Be sure to keep an eye on the forcast and prepare for this potential storm.

Children may be excited to play in the snow but PLEASE keep in mind: extreme cold and snow can cause frostbite! Dress your child in several layers and be sure their head, neck, and hands are covered before they go play in the snow. Have children come in for frequent breaks to warm up and change into dry clothes.

Throughout the month of January, Hillview will tackle hunger and make much needed donations to the Pequannock Township Food Pantry. If you are able to donate, please send in non-perishable, non-expired food items. Non-food items, such as toiletries and personal care items, are always welcome. The class with the most items will win a pizza party. Thank you for supporting our community!

There will be an early dismissal on Tuesday, February 3rd. If you'd like to order pizza, please do so by January 28th.
