Data-Based Decision-Making

This session will focus on using data to identify problems with precision, develop goals, and select effective solutions to improve Tier 1 systems. Participants will learn and practice using a structured problem-solving process to make decisions about maintaining, modifying, or adapting supports based on data.

Incorporating Schoolwide Attendance Supports into Your PBIS Framework

Supporting the attendance of individual students starts by having a solid Tier 1 system in place. In this session, participants will learn how to plan attendance campaigns, incorporate attendance into their schoolwide matrix, and involve families in the attendance process.

Trauma-Responsive Practices

This session will support Tier 1 teams in building trauma-informed practices that are implemented consistently for all students across the school. Teams will learn how to create predictable, supportive environments and use proactive strategies that promote safety, connection, and regulation.

Embedding Restorative Practices in Your PBIS Framework

Participants will explore the principles of restorative practices, learn strategies for building strong relationships, and develop skills for responding to conflict and behavior in ways that promote accountability, belonging, and connection. Through interactive activities and practical examples, attendees will leave with tools they can immediately apply in their classrooms, schools, and teams.

Including Students with Complex Needs in Your PBIS Framework

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is grounded in a strong body of research demonstrating its effectiveness in promoting positive engagement for all students. In addition, growing evidence supports the benefits of schoolwide PBIS for students with significant cognitive disabilities. This session explores how schools can ensure that students with significant cognitive disabilities are meaningfully included in their PBIS framework by examining the core elements of schoolwide PBIS and offering practical strategies for making each component accessible and inclusive for all learners.

Regulation Strategies

This session will prepare Tier 1 teams to lead the development and implementation of consistent, schoolwide regulation supports across all classrooms. Teams will learn how to establish clear expectations, respond to student needs, use effective co-regulation strategies, and embed regulation practices across all settings. Teams will explore topics such as calming corners, sensory regulating activities, and daily proactive practices.

Engaging Families & Students

This session explores the essential role of families and students in creating positive, supportive learning environments through a PBIS framework. Participants will examine strategies for building authentic partnerships with families, enhancing two-way communication, and increasing family engagement in reinforcing behavioral expectations across school and home settings. The session will also focus on elevating student voice by engaging students as active partners in shaping school culture, developing behavioral expectations, providing feedback on PBIS practices, and participating in decision-making processes.

School Safety and Crisis Prevention

In this session, participants will learn how to align their emergency operations procedures with the teach-model-practice-reinforce components of PBIS. Participants will leave with examples of how to take a PBIS approach to emergency drills and other crisis situations, along with strategies for supporting students and staff before, during, and after safety and crisis situations arise.
