Sprague School

Halloween & Harvest Celebrations
Sprague will hold their Halloween Parties (EC-2) or the alternative Harvest Party (K-2) on Friday, October 30. Families are not invited to attend class parties other than room parents, but weather permitting, they may attend the outside parade. If weather does not permit an outside parade, the parade will be inside just for students.
AM & Extended Day Early Childhood
AM & Extended Day Early Childhood will enjoy an indoor parade starting at 10:20 a.m. The students will parade in the main hallway and through the Imaginarium.
Parents are welcome to watch the EC students parade through the main hallway.
Class parties will run from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m.
PM Early Childhood & Kindergarten through Grade 2 Parade
- Full-day kindergarten through second-grade students, along with PM Early Childhood students, will enjoy an outdoor parade (weather permitting) and a Halloween party.
Families are welcome to attend the outdoor parade, weather permitting, which will take place behind the school along the playground sidewalks from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m.
We ask that parents stand in grassy areas only, as students will walk the perimeter of the blacktop.
Room parents may enter the classroom at 12:45 p.m. to set up for the party and assist students with their costumes, if needed.
Class parties will conclude at 2:00 p.m. (Room parents only).
Half-Day kindergarten students are invited back to Sprague at 12:45 p.m. to enjoy the parade and Halloween party.
In Preparation for the Parties
- Students should bring their costumes in a bag labeled with their names.
- Any item that could serve as a weapon must be left at home.
- Wheeled shoes, rollerblades, skateboards, etc. may not be brought to school.
- Teachers and room parents will assist with costumes.
- Please consult the parking map, which shows where it is legally safe to park near Sprague. Parking is very limited so please arrive early and carpool, if possible.
Harvest Party
We recognize and respect that some families do not celebrate Halloween. We are offering a Harvest Party celebrating fall on Friday, October 30, at the same time as the classroom Halloween parties and costume parade. This is an alternative for students whose families choose for them not to participate in the Halloween celebration.
Please complete this form ONLY if you would like your child to attend the Harvest Party instead of the classroom Halloween party and costume parade.
Students attending the Harvest Party will join Dr. Jackie Bever in the library for small-group crafts and games without costumes. They will not participate in their classroom’s Halloween party or costume parade.
Sign up for the alternative Harvest Party so we know you would like your child to attend. Please sign up by Wednesday, October 28.
If your child will participate in the classroom Halloween party and costume parade, no action is needed. Please do not complete this form. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Bever at jbever@d103.org.
