26-27 Lower School News - Week 4
September 11, 2026

From the Director of Lower School
September 11, 2026
What a short, but wonderfully full, four-day week it has been in Lower School! Even with one less day together, our Tigers filled the week with creativity, curiosity, collaboration, kindness, joyful learning, and even a few very special lunch guests!
Our students were authors, scientists, mathematicians, artists, problem-solvers, and friends.
Our Kinder scientists researched what tigers need to survive and then became “tiger dentists,” using creativity, collaboration, and fine-motor skills to care for some very important tiger teeth! Elsewhere on campus, even the discovery of a ladybug on the playground became an opportunity for wonder and curiosity.
Our mathematicians were busy, too. Fourth graders practiced place value and comparing numbers through a fun “Rolling to a Million” challenge, while some of our youngest learners explored squares with popsicle sticks—discovering that equal sides matter and that bigger creations often require teamwork!
We also continued nurturing the whole child.
During SEL, our fourth graders read Each Kindness and explored how even small acts of kindness can create ripples that reach farther than we realize. Second graders took time to breathe and reset through classroom yoga, while our tiniest Tigers built gross-motor, problem-solving, and social skills through something they look forward to every day—playground time.
There truly is no place like St. Luke’s.
In just four days friendships grew, curiosity was sparked, and students were challenged to think, create, collaborate, and care for one another.
What a joy it is to watch our Tigers grow each day!

Updates/Reminders
Dress Uniform (1st-4th)
On Wednesdays and other special occasions, our students elevate their everyday uniform by wearing what we call Dress Uniform. These days are an opportunity to teach students that how we present ourselves can reflect respect—for our school, our traditions, our community, and the occasion. Wearing Dress Uniform also helps students practice responsibility, attention to detail, and pride in representing St. Luke’s.
Please review the images below (or the guide above) to ensure all Dress Uniform guidelines are followed.
