January Wrap Up
STEM
In our weekly STEM Program we encourage the children to use their imaginations to explore and discover. In one of our January sessions the children heard the story “NOT A BOX” By: Antoinette Portis. After the story the children were encouraged to use their imagination to think of what their box could become. With their imaginations swirling the children were off and running. A table full of various types of materials was available for the children to choose from and they truly enjoyed this fun and creative lesson.
Mindful Movements
Our Mindful Movement class went on a journey with the teapot from the story “I’m a Little Teapot” as she dreamed of visiting China, Mexico, the opera, a jungle and various other places. The children learned various physical poses to go along with the story that assisted in building gross & fine motor skills, balance and strength. This class also helps the children learn about their breath, stillness and self regulation. At the end of class all of the children enjoy showing their favorite pose that they learned from the story.
