West York Honors Its Undefeated 1967 Football Team West York Honors Its Undefeated 1967 Football Team

West York Football celebrated nearly six decades of Bulldog tradition as the undefeated 1967 football team became the first team inducted into the West York Football Hall of Fame.

The celebration began Thursday evening with a special social event that brought members of the 1967 team together with the current Bulldog football team. Over dinner, players shared stories, looked through old photos and newspaper articles, and reminisced about their time at West York.

The celebration continued Friday as the returning Bulldogs toured the High School before gathering for an indoor tailgate. Players and their spouses were joined by the spouses and families of teammates who have since passed away, allowing their memories and contributions to remain part of the celebration. Current players, coaches, and other members of the West York football community also took part, creating a meaningful connection between generations of Bulldogs.

Later that evening, the 1967 undefeated team was officially inducted into the West York Football Hall of Fame prior to the Bulldogs’ home game against Susquehanna Township.

It was a memorable celebration of the friendships, traditions, and Bulldog pride that have connected West York Football across generations. Congratulations to the 1967 Bulldogs on this historic and well-deserved honor!

Creative Writing Comes to Life Through the Five Senses Creative Writing Comes to Life Through the Five Senses

High School students in Ms. Nicki Stiger’s Creative Writing class recently explored how sensory details can make descriptive writing more vivid and engaging.

Using all five senses as inspiration, students practiced building strong imagery and making meaningful comparisons through figurative language. Their final project challenged them to put those skills into practice by writing a poem about food designed to help readers see, smell, taste, hear, and feel the experience through words.

The activity gave students a creative way to strengthen their descriptive writing while showing just how powerful carefully chosen details can be.
