February Theme: Love of Learning
Celebrating the Love of Learning!
This month, our school theme is "Love of Learning," and we want to encourage our students to discover the joy and power of education. Here are some ways families can support and inspire a love for learning at home:
Tips for Families:
- Show interest in your child's schoolwork and ask questions about what they're learning.
- Encourage them to set goals and celebrate their progress, big or small.
- Provide access to books, magazines, or online resources that match their interests.
- Create a quiet, dedicated space for studying and reading.
- Connect learning to real-life experiences—visit local parks, community centers, or cultural events.
Activities to Inspire Learning:
- Explore career interests through interviews or virtual tours of local businesses.
- Discuss current events and relate them to what they're studying.
- Use music, art, or sports to connect with academic concepts.
- Encourage journaling or storytelling to develop their voice and critical thinking.
- Participate in community service projects to foster empathy and responsibility.
Quote of the Month:
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."_ — Nelson Mandela
Let's work together to nurture a love of learning that empowers our students to reach their full potential and build brighter futures!
Attendance/ Early Dismissal
Daily attendance is key to student success.
Please make every effort to have students arrive on time and ready to learn
If your child must be absent, notify the school as soon as possible
If your family is experiencing challenges that affect attendance, please reach out—we are here to support you.
Valuable instructional time is lost when students arrive late. Teachers begin lessons at 9:00 am daily. Student is considered later after 9:05. If your child is late, an adult must sign them in. Thank you for your help in getting all students to the building on time!

Early dismissal stops at 2:45 to properly prepare for dismissal. Please adhere to these times as they are explained in the handbook. NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE PICKED UP AFTER 2:45!
ALL STUDENTS MUST BE WALKED IN AFTER 9:00 AM!

From the Desk of Ms. Thompson, School Counselor
I know that transitioning into middle school can sometimes feel overwhelming.
It’s okay to take a moment for yourself. When things feel a little too loud or heavy, find a quiet space and listen to my calming music playlist. Allow the gentle sounds to soothe your spirit, ease your mind, and remind you that peace is always within reach.
Remember — taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of your schoolwork. A few moments of calm can make a world of difference. 💛
