Well done to the 6th Class pupils who took part in the Ceremony of Light Mass held at Coole Church yesterday evening. Ms Payne was singing your praises! The boys and girls will be making their Confirmation in less than 3 weeks and I would like to wish them all the best in their final preparations for this special celebration.
Friendship Week 26th February - 1st March
Next week, we are celebrating Friendship Week at Dangan. We have lots of class and whole school activities planned with the main emphasis on Respect, Kindness, Inclusion and Friendship.
Although these values are central to our daily school culture, next week will focus on all these important elements throughout the entirety of the school day.
Good Luck to the girls and boys competing in the Mini 7s Football Competition Next Week!
The Boys are away in Dunshaughlin on Tuesday 27th February.
The Girls will be playing in the competition on Friday 1st March at Summerhill GAA pitch.
Yard Break and Play Areas.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all our students, each class has been allocated specific areas for play during yard breaks over the wet weather season. Yard time is also split with only 4 classes on the yard at one time to avoid needing to use the grass. The areas of play include the blue soft play zone, the huts under the trees - if they are dry enough (not on the grass), the yard, and the basketball court. Unfortunately, some children are venturing onto the grass during breaks.
Staff members are actively supervising to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all students. We would ask for your support in reminding your children to stay within their designated play zones, as playing on the grass is not permitted until the weather becomes dryer and warmer. This helps us maintain a clean and safe environment for all students.
In instances where a child may go home wet, we encourage you to inform the teacher so that this can be prevented from happening in the future.
While we understand that children may occasionally go home a bit mucky, we want to prevent them from getting wet during break times to avoid discomfort and potential illness. You are welcome to provide a change of clothes in your child's school bag for emergencies, but our goal is for every child to stay dry in the clothes they wear to school.
Your cooperation in reinforcing these guidelines with your children is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

February Core Value - Feeling Safe
In January and February, our primary focus has been on the core value of "Feeling Safe." Each class has actively engaged in discussions during morning circle activities, encouraging children to reflect on how we contribute to a sense of safety in school and what behaviours might compromise that feeling for others. This emphasis on safety ties in with our SPHE Curriculum topic for the month, "Stay Safe." The Stay Safe programme is designed to empower children with self-protective skills, covering essential age appropriate topics like identifying safe and unsafe situations, addressing bullying, recognizing inappropriate touch, understanding the concept of secrets, promoting the importance of speaking out, and being aware of stranger danger.
