Happy Sunday: 5 Weeks Down, Now What!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and will use the day off tomorrow as an opportunity to rest, recharge, and get ready for another great week at NPHS. What a great way to end our week with an exciting Panther Football victory over Muir High School! Friday night also provided another special opportunity to bring our community together as our Dance program, led by Coach Cameo, along with our Cheer program and coaches Diego and Sylvie, welcomed nearly 100 future Panther dancers and cheerleaders to be part of our amazing Friday Night Lights experience. It was great to see so many young students performing, connecting with our current Panthers, and getting excited about their own future as a Panther. Events like this are a great reminder that NPHS is more than just a school—it is a community, and we love creating opportunities for our Future Panthers to feel connected to it.
Our 5-week progress report grades will be released this week, and we encourage all families to take time to review their student’s progress together. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out directly to your student’s teachers and take advantage of the academic support options available on campus, including Teacher Drop-In Hours and the Panther Study Hub. Most importantly, continue helping your student develop the consistent academic routines—attendance, organization, completing assignments, studying, and asking for help—that are necessary for success each day.
Homecoming is just one week away, and we are excited for a great week of Panther spirit! Dance tickets are still available, and we have posted our spirit dress-up days along with other important Homecoming information below. Please do not wait until the last minute to purchase dance tickets. Families should also carefully review the updated Chromebook information regarding the use of personal devices and make sure students are prepared with their District-issued Chromebook each day. Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our students. Let’s have another great week as One School. One Purpose. One Panther.

And Always Remember:
- Students: Show up. Get involved. Ask for help. Learn from mistakes. Take responsibility.
- Parents: Stay connected. Ask questions. Encourage independence. Support perseverance. Partner with us.
- NPHS: Know our students. Challenge them. Support them. Provide opportunities. Never give up on a Panther.
Attendance Will Always Matter
BEING there, BEING present, and BEING on time is crucial to a successful school year. We all have our days when things and situations arise, however, all students need to develop a sense of pride in being early and on time. As parents, you can help set the tone of being on time and being at school. School officially starts at 8:30 am. Everyone needs to have a plan to get to school in plenty of time in the morning. Students are expected to be on time in the classroom before the bell rings to start class. We now only have one five-minute warning bell for all classes. Please work with us to ensure that all students will be on time for class each and every day.
NPHS National Merit Semi-Finalists!
Congratulations to the six CVUSD high school students who were announced last week as Semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit® Scholarship Program:
- Adithi Arvind
- Nathaniel Burke
- Arth Dalsania
- Riley Shin
- Rishabh Kaushik
- Samir Warner
The National Merit® Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
Over 1.2 million juniors in about 20,000 high schools entered the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants.
Students from Newbury Park High School were among the more than 16,000 Semifinalists in the 72nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, including the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth approximately $24 million that will be offered next spring. Congratulations to these scholars on their incredible accomplishment! Click here to learn more.
NPHS Best Dance Crew, Friday, September 25!
NPHS Is A T-Mobile Fridays Winner, More To Do!
We have some GREAT NEWS to celebrate, Panthers! Thanks to the incredible support and school spirit of our students, families, staff, and community, Newbury Park High School has won the T-Mobile #FN5GL $5K Fridays Sweepstakes and $5,000 for our school! This is another great example of what can happen when our Panther community comes together.
But we’re not done yet! We need everyone’s help to keep the momentum going and take NPHS even further in the competition. Please help spread the word on social media by tagging @newburyparkpanthers and @TMobile and including #FN5GL and #Entry. Every post helps us showcase the incredible spirit and pride of our school and community. Let’s keep it going, Panthers, and show everyone what it means to be One School. One Purpose. One Panther!

Personal Devices and Access To District Networks Update Final Reminder
Beginning Monday, September 21, CVUSD Technology Services will make an important change to wireless network access for students. Student accounts will no longer be able to connect to the CVUSD BYOD wireless network using personal devices. This change supports our transition to District-issued Chromebooks and helps ensure a safer, more consistent, and secure technology environment for all students. Students should use their District-issued Chromebook when accessing the CVUSD network for instructional activities during the school day. Personal laptops, iPads, and other personal devices will not be able to access the BYOD network through a student account.
Students who still need a District-issued Chromebook may check one out during our regular Tech Support hours. We encourage all students to bring their District-issued Chromebook to school each day fully charged and ready to use. This change applies only to student accounts and will not impact staff access to the CVUSD BYOD network. Thank you for your partnership as we continue working to provide students with a safe, reliable, and consistent digital learning environment.
