Classroom Special Events and Sibling Attendance
We love having families join us for special classroom events, such as pancake breakfasts, tea parties, musical performances and celebrations! However, we need to be very clear about one expectation.
Students may NOT be pulled out of their classrooms to attend a sibling’s special event.
If you are attending an event in one child’s classroom, please do not go to another classroom to pick up their sibling. All students are expected to remain in their assigned classrooms and participate in their regularly scheduled instruction.
These events are designed for the students in the hosting classroom and their invited guests. Pulling siblings from class disrupts instruction and creates unnecessary interruptions for teachers and students.
Please help us protect instructional time by keeping students in their assigned classrooms during sibling events.
News from Music
Our year has gotten off to a great start with lots of singing, dancing and creating! In class we have been working on reviewing and solidifying skills learned the previous school year as well as getting creative with music technology!
With our next Mane Event around the corner, each grade level is rehearsing songs by Dolly Parton to perform together as a school. Our Choir and Guitar and Ukulele club have started up and we are so excited with the already awesome work they are doing!
A Special highlight goes out to our kindergarteners for piloting a new “Tremont Listening Journal” project that will stay with them until they finish 5th grade! They are showing great thoughtfulness with their materials and are building a joy for listening to music!
Another highlight goes out to all the related arts, intervention specialists, and paraprofessionals who came together for cardio drumming this week with their students!
Help us Honor Veterans
As we approach Veterans' Day, we want to honor the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. If you have a veteran in your life—whether a family member, friend, or loved one—we invite you to share their story with us.
Please use this form to submit a short description about your veteran, with their name, branch of service, and the name of who they are related to at Tremont. Please upload a photo of your veteran so we can include it in our memorial slide show.
If able, your veteran is invited to join us for our Mane Event on November 5th at 9am and a reception afterwards.
All submissions will be included in our Veterans' Day recognition efforts to help our community remember and honor the service and sacrifice of our heroes.
Submissions are due by October 22nd
Thank you for helping us pay tribute to those who have served!
Walk-a-Thon Times
Dogs on the Property
This fall we have seen more and more dogs accompanying families during pick-up and drop-off times. While we love to see our students’ furry friends, we also want to remind families that dogs are not permitted on school property. If you choose to walk your dog to pick-up/drop-off, please wait for your student off of school grounds.
Family Literacy Night
Please save the date for our Tremont Literacy Night, an adult-only evening designed to help you better understand your child's literacy journey.
You will learn about how our brains learn to read and write, explore the literacy curriculum your child experiences in the elementary classroom, and learn about resources and strategies you can use at home to support your child’s literacy development.
There will also be time to ask questions, explore helpful resources, and learn how to be an even stronger literacy partner for your child.

Issue 7 Lunch and Learn Webinar
Want to learn more about Issue 7?
Mark your calendars to join UA Schools leaders for a Lunch & Learn webinar at noon on Friday, October 2, to learn the facts about the combined operating levy and bond issue that will appear on the November 3 ballot.
You can join the webinar at this link.
Building tour opportunities
On November 3, residents will vote on a combined operating levy and bond issue that would maintain the district’s current educational programming and fund the second phase of the facilities master plan, which calls for rebuilding Hastings Middle School and Burbank Early Childhood School as well as renovating and rebuilding Jones Middle School.
As residents consider Issue 7, we are providing opportunities to get a first-hand look inside each of these schools. All three buildings will be open Thursday October 8, with tours beginning at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
