Blevins Bulletin
December 8th , 2023
August 22, 2025 Principal's Message
Hello Blevins Families,
I can't express my gratitude to our entire Blevins community enough for what has been a challenging week. As a staff, we have prioritized the physical and emotional safety of our students, and we have seen them return to an overall sense of normalcy. We also recognize that these feelings can ebb and flow for every child. We will consistently be there for them, especially when they need someone. We also encourage you to reach out to our counseling and office teams, or me when you feel your child needs extra support. We will be persistent about getting each of them what they need.
Thanks to you all for your support, grace, and trust. I know that all of those things were difficult to give in a week like this. My goal is to always communicate in the most timely and efficient manner, while also considering the best next steps to keep you involved and feeling the same physical and emotional safety for your children. We will be persistent about this too. So many of you have reached out to me with your concerns, questions, feedback, and support. Please continue to do so. We're in this together.
Next week comes with an event that brings a real sense of school normalcy: it's Picture Day on Tuesday! We look forward to seeing our students look their best and shine their brightest smiles. Look out for information to purchase pictures in this bulletin. We always have a make-up picture day later in the year, as well.
I encourage you to join us for our first PTO meeting of the year on Tuesday, 5:30-7pm. You don't need to feel obligated to join every meeting; just attend when you can and offer whatever support you can. We love seeing new faces each year.
Thank you again for your partnership and support. I hope that this weekend brings you rest and we look forward to a full week ahead with full day class schedules and cooler temperatures.
Proudly,
Joe Zappa, Principal

RMHS Cross Country Race Invitation
We want to share a unique opportunity for an early season cross country race for your runners. The Lobo Invitational offers a 1.5 mile, professionally timed race at beautiful Spring Canyon Park on Saturday, August 23rd at 11:10 a.m. (boys) and 11:30 (girls). We're excited to offer middle school athletes a low-key and fun race to kick-off the season! The top 10 boys and top 10 girls will win medals. Luckily, the weather looks favorable for Saturday.
But who says the middle schoolers should have all the fun? Join us at 8 a.m. for a Community 5k on the same race course as our high school runners. Parents are highly encouraged to participate! Altitude Running provides the awards to the top 3 male and female finishers.
New this year! The Community and Middle School runners will receive the official Lobo Invitational race shirt with their registration.
Online registration is available at the link below for just $20 for MS runners. While we encourage online registration, we are pleased to offer race day registration as well (price increases to $25 on race day).

RMHS Feeder Parade Invitation
The Feeder Parade will take place on September 4th, starting at 5:30 pm. Students need to arrive at 5:00 pm at the grass area outside the north French Field gates. The parade will end promptly at 6 pm, and parents can meet their kids outside the same gate outside of French. The kickoff for the football game will be at 6:30 pm. Additionally, each student who participates will receive free admission to the football game.
The event is a fun parade for students attending a school that feeds into RMHS. Students will gather at the gates and line up for the parade with other students from their school. We will have students with signs for where each school’s students should gather before the parade. The marching band will lead the parade around the French Field track.
This event is a great way for your students to get involved with Rocky and our community.
