Principal's Message
Dear Maple Glen Families,
As for today, we have raised over $20,000 towards our $50,000 ROCK-A-THON goal! How great is that?!?! Donations are open until September 17th.
Because we met our $15,000 goal, Monday will be GREEN OUT DAY! Students are encouraged to wear all green. We do ask that students refrain from face paint or hair paint. We are still going out to recess to run and play every day and sometimes face/hair paints do not mix well with sweat.
A special thank you to our PTO who has been helping bring in donations and organizing our fun prizes!
Speaking of fun - Any student that raises $100 gets chance to dunk Mr. P in the dunk take. Any student that raises $200 gets a chance to dunk ME in the dunk tank on September 19th during the ROCK-A-THON.
Have a great weekend and THANK YOU for all your support!
Tiffany
MGES September Student of the Month
At Maple Glen, we celebrate Leaf Leaders — students who demonstrate Lifelong Learning, Empathy, Accountability, and Flexibility. Congratulations to Alex Parks for being named the September Student of the Month at our September school board meeting. Alex was nominated by his teacher, Mrs. Devitt, for his kindness, inclusivity, and being empathic to all his classmates. We are so proud of Alex!
Attendance Update
171st & Ditch - Construction Update
The construction of the new round-a-bout at 171st and Ditch is in full swing. While the city is hoping this addition will help with the flow of traffic on Ditch, things are going to get a little worse before they get better.
171 Street will be CLOSED at Ditch Road and MGES will NOT be accessible from
Ditch Road. Drop off/pick up will not change at the school.
The closure of 171st St should start anytime and will likely remain closed for at least 45 days. A visual is attached below. Mr. Jaffe or Officer Dougherty will be at the entrance helping direct traffic.
We ask for your patience and flexibility as the city works hard to get this project finished, and we all go back to our normal flow of traffic!

Talking Points
Westfield Washington Schools usesTalkingPoints to communicate with families! TalkingPoints allows for seamless multilingual two-way communication between teachers and families. Families can choose to receive messages via SMS text messaging or through the free FAMILIES | TalkingPoints mobile app for Apple or Android.
This platform has enhanced translation capabilities, so families can receive and send messages in their preferred language. Additional tools like speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and closed captioned videos make this program accessible to all of our Westfield families.
The most important thing you can do to ensure you are receiving messages from your child’s teacher is to make sure your contact information for the “Father” and “Mother” fields in PowerSchool is correct. When a teacher sends out a message, TalkingPoints will automatically use those two phone numbers. If you’d like to add additional contacts, please reach out to your child’s teachers.
