Principal's Note
Dear NPE Community,
Thank you for your support during these opening days of school. There is a wonderful energy throughout the building as we begin the 2025–2026 school year. Over the past few days, students and teachers have been building connections, while also focusing on the NPE “Three to Be” and practicing important classroom and schoolwide routines. It has been a joyful and smooth start, and I am grateful for the partnership that helps make this possible.
Please take a moment to review the information included in this e-blast. Moving forward, NPE e-blasts will typically be sent on Monday afternoons. Our next eblast will be published on Monday, September 8. We also hope you will join us at our first NPE PTO meeting on Tuesday, September 9, at 7:00 PM in the NPE library.
Wishing you and your family a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!
Warmly,
Al Heinle
Principal
Nether Providence Elementary
Navigate 360 - New Entry Procedures
WSSD has implemented a new visitor management system, Navigate 360. Unfortunately, data from the previous system is not transferable, so all visitors will be required to scan their driver's license for their first visit to the building. All visitors should report directly to the main office and produce a valid, government-issued ID to receive a visitor badge. Upon exiting the building, please check out with the main office and dispose of your visitor badge in the trash.
In addition to scanning your license and receiving a visitor badge, volunteer clearances are also required for all visitors. Please click here for details on how to complete that requirement. Our school district is committed to providing a safe learning environment for all and we thank you for your cooperation!
NPE Chess Club - Grades 3-5
Paul Sharrah, WSSD Technology Support Specialist, will offer NPE Chess Club to students in grades 3-5. Chess Club will run on Tuesdays from 3:40-5:00 PM during selected dates this fall. For more information, please click on the link below:
Instrumental Demonstration Grades 3-5
Instrumental Demonstration
Students in Grades 3-5 will attend a brief instrumental demonstration on Monday, September 8. WSSD music teachers will perform each of the instruments that students can choose to learn and practice with throughout the school year.
More information will be distributed after the demonstration. The instrumental demonstration is always a wonderful event that highlights the musical talents of the K-12 WSSD music staff.

Volunteering at NPE
In preparation for the 2025-2026 school year, I am recommending completing the process for clearances if you have not already done so. Clearances are good for 5 years and are kept at the District level.
Volunteer clearances are required for anyone volunteering to work with our students, whether that is in school, on a field trip, at an athletic event/practice, etc. Essentially, everyone who is volunteering with our students or in a school is required to obtain volunteer clearances. This includes but is not limited to adults who regularly volunteer but are under the supervision of a staff member.
Information about how to obtain clearances and how to submit them are available on the district's website, here: Volunteer Information & Guidelines - Wallingford-Swarthmore School District
